FAQ

What is your mission statement and how do you aim to achieve it?

Our mission at Hestia is to provide support and empowerment to those in need, particularly vulnerable women and children, through a range of services such as homeless shelters, mental health services, and domestic abuse treatment centers. We achieve this by working closely with our clients and communities to understand their needs and providing tailored support to meet those needs. We also collaborate with other organizations and government agencies to advocate for policies and initiatives that benefit our clients and address social issues affecting our communities.

How do you ensure that community input is taken into consideration in your projects?

At Hestia, we believe that community input is crucial for the success of our projects. We regularly engage with our clients and communities through various channels such as community meetings, surveys, and focus groups to gather feedback and ideas. We also collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to ensure that our projects align with the needs and priorities of the community.

What impact have your past social projects had on the community?

Our past social projects have had a significant impact on the community, particularly in improving the lives of vulnerable women and children. For example, our domestic abuse treatment centers have helped many survivors of domestic violence rebuild their lives and regain their independence. Our homeless shelters have provided a safe and supportive environment for those experiencing homelessness to access vital services and support. Our mental health services have helped many individuals struggling with mental health issues to improve their well-being and quality of life.

Can you provide examples of successful projects or events organized by your organization that have helped advance women's rights and opportunities?

Yes, we have organized several successful projects and events that have helped advance women's rights and opportunities. One example is our annual International Women's Day event, where we bring together women from diverse backgrounds to celebrate their achievements and discuss issues affecting women's rights. We have also launched several campaigns to raise awareness of issues such as domestic violence and sexual harassment, and to advocate for policy changes that benefit women.

What is the cost of your services and do you offer insurance or payment plans?

The cost of our services varies depending on the type and level of support needed, and we offer a range of payment options including insurance and payment plans. We also provide free or subsidized services for those who are unable to afford them. We encourage individuals to contact us

Disgraceful manager I had. I was working at Saint Ann’s Haringey. I was getting along well with all of my colleagues and NHS staff. My salary was commissioned by the nhs, and then paid to me. Something that Hestia completely ignored. My manager did not inform me over the last two months of probation about a scenario of dismissal. A week before my dismissal she announced that a review meeting will be taking place which may lead to my dismissal. She said that during a meeting like that somebody can even be permanent! The meeting happened in two weeks since the hR business partner was on annual leave. I collected all praises from colleagues and seniors. They ignored everything. The fired me the same day without giving me the chance to complete my notice at the hospital and fix practicalities with clients and colleauges. Horrendous practise. Just because my line manager was the only one who did not like me for personal reasons. I was working for three different teams doing the work of three people and ended up losing my job. Avoid the company at all costs!! They didn’t even respect the money they were getting from the nhs. Seniors of the trust are discussing the return of the role I had, to the hands of the nhs. They should definitely do that! Hestia is dodgy and dangerous

Disgusting excuse of a refuge.. i hope you look at reviews before accepting a place here and see this.. PLEASE do not put yourself and your children in the hands of this service.. there are other ways to get help. Unless you want your human rights taken away and your childrens lives unsettled traumatised and disrupted more than they have been already please think twice. Unfit living conditions that will be blamed on tenants to avoid the service having to take action. Personal data constantly breached. Staff will discuss your situation with other service users. They will also make false reports to social services if you question anything they choose to put you through.
