    Disgraceful non service. Car booked in advance but plane was late so arrived at the Hertz hut at 7.00pm not 6pm. Bear in mind they had my flight number and I prepaid. Young woman there reluctantly opened the door but then said I wasn’t at the address on my licence- which I am. She said she was calling her manager who didn’t answer so she cancelled the booking leaving me without transport and having to get a taxi 45 miles. Appalling Hertz! Book with Enterprise instead.

    We had a few ups and downs with our rental but overall we had a positive experiance: 1) When ordering the vehicle online and paying in full, another amount of money was held ( $1600 ) by Hertz for reasons unknown. It took 18 days for that money to be released. 2) On arrival we were offered an upgrade as there were none of the vehicles we requested available. I jokingly said that I'd be happy with one of the fully electric Polestar 2's which were outside. The staff member said... ok cool, go pick a colour. This was an amazing gesture and it allowed us to drive emmission free through the Midlands. 3) When returning the car, we made sure to point out the existing marks and small dent which was pointed out at the beginning of the rental. The staff member looked inside and promptly charged a 35 pound cleaning fee, for nothing more than a small amount of dirt from the kids shoes. ( UK = shoes are going to get dirty ) I would have expected that light cleaning of the vehicle would be included within the rental, however Hertz will take this chance to charge you extra, if the vehicle is anything less than perfect. 4) They attempted to charge an additional days rental, for dropping the vehicle back at an agreed time. This however was quickly rectified by the manager. Overall... Company practices ( 4 out of 5 ) Hidden Company practices ( 1 out of 5 ) Asim the site manager ( 5 out of 5 )

    If i could give 0 stars i would. After being told everything was alright with the car on drop off, within minutes (still waiting for flight in BHX) I received an email with an invoice charging for damage to the vehicle, which i do not accept but which they just keep sending me the same copy of the invoice for. Will never use Herzt again. Terrible customer service.

    No-one there after 4pm and impossible to get anyone to answer a call or return a call - beware if you are planning to book car and your flight gets in after 4pm avoid using the Booking.com system - the whole process is extremely misleading and not intuitive or consumer friendly. I am trying to get a refund for a car that I booked and wasted hours trying to get hold of Hertz. They ask for flight number and do not communicate any info on the collection time - only the early morning drop off.
