I called John as wanted my dark stained oak fireplace returned to the lighter natural colour. I sent over a photo and received a quote promptly. Once I agreed, the fireplace was collected and returned soon afterwards. I was worried that the dark colour couldn’t be changed especially on some of the decorative parts. I needn’t have worried as the final final was fantastic with a coat of wax on it. I would thoroughly recommend using this company in the future.

Outstanding value and excellent service from Ben and John. Finally got round to writing a review following completion of my house renovation last year. As part of the renovation I needed all the doors (11 in total) from my thatched cottage stripping back to bare wood. They picked up the doors from our house in Hampshire and after the doors had been stripped we visited their location in Rickmansworth to inspect the doors prior to waxing. Following the waxing of the doors they delivered the doors back to us. Absolutely superb !

Had an old metal table, four chairs and bench in a sorry state. Tired of painting every two years only to have them start flaking after one. Google found Herts Door Stripping. Herts DS collected all the items, stripped then powder coated and delivered back. The furniture is transformed and looks better than it has in years. The finish will last far longer. I usually don’t write reviews but I have to share the amazing work John did stripping my vintage table and chairs. They’ve had new life breathed into them and look much more modern and expensive! John stayed in contact regularly to keep me updated on the work and it was easy to organise home collection and delivery. Couldn’t be happier, I’ll definitely be recommending to friends and family!

A five star service... John was fantastic, stripping the paint off 8 old doors beautifully for me within a week and at a fair price, thoroughly recommended! (And definitely use this company over any others as I had a terrible experience with another company I was first trying, who took 3 weeks to give one door back and it was totally ruined..)

John was fantastic. I was thinking of replacing all my doors but sent a photo to John who advised me they were the original doors (Victorian property) and that they would come up really great with all the numerous layers of gloss paint removed. He returned them today and was true to his word they are absolutely fabulous! He removed them, took them away and rehung them when brought back. He’s a really genuine guy with a great sense of humor. Saved me a fortune on not having to buy new doors. I now have better quality doors in keeping with the age of my property far better than I could buy new for a fraction of the price. Who could ask for more? I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending to all. Thoroughly chuffed from Guildford.
