I’ve just completed a 10 week beginner course and really enjoyed the class experience. It’s helped build my confidence, especially the speaking side of learning the language. It is a massive bonus that the teacher Begona is Spanish and very patient. I’m looking forward to the start of the next term in April.

I had always wanted to learn Spanish and saw an advertisement for the Hertfordshire Spanish school in a local cafe. So I signed up to the beginners class and have just completed my 10 week course with Begona. Cost of the course was very reasonable and the classes fitted in well with my weekly schedule. Learning Spanish was a lot harder than I realised it would be, you do need to put the effort in at home as well. I enjoyed the course and have come away with the basic understanding of the language and hope to do the next stage later in the year.

I really enjoy my Spanish classes with Begona. I felt I had to push myself out of my comfort zone if I was really going to progress with learning the language and so originally signed up for the face to face classes. Lockdown put a stop to those but transferring to online was easy and convenient. The classes are fun but challenging so I always come away thinking I’ve learned something new. Begona is particularly good at engaging with the students and creating a social atmosphere. She also organises the occasional meet up between different classes for some home-cooked Spanish food and cinema! I’d definitely recommend you give these a go.

Begona provides creative and varied lessons, that cover all aspects of the language. I also get an insight into Spanish culture throughout the classwork and homework. Highly recommend.

We cover different topics each week and, because the atmosphere is friendly and collaborative, we have all gained in confidence. Begoña is a kind and patient teacher and I recommend the school to anyone wanting to learn Spanish in a relaxed atmosphere.

I had been looking forward to learning Spanish for several years and the Covid-19 lockdown opportunity on Zoom has proved to be the ideal solution. Begona is a very experienced, professional and sympathetic native speaker who brings so much more to the lessons than simple conversational Spanish. I particularly enjoy the cultural and grammatical aspects of the course - and - working with like-minded students covering all generations! The material is well chosen and the follow-up material ( or homework!) is always relevant to the lessons and enables us to consolidate what we have learnt. Half way through the course I spent 2 weeks in Lanzarote and I was amazed how much I could understand and communicate in Spanish. Begona also organises social events with Spanish food and cinema! It was great to meet other pupils face to face after lockdown! I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Begona after Easter. Muchas gracias!

When I decided that I had hit the wall in as far as self-learning could take me, I decided to look for local Spanish schools to further my knowledge. My first class with Begoña, the teacher, and other students was fantastic - the classes are structured, there are materials provided and it's so much fun learning with other people. Begoña got to know my background and we discussed what level I am at and placed me in the correct class. It's been over a year and I am still taking classes - impressive as I actually moved out of Hertfordshire but didn't want to leave her classes. But one of the good things to come out of the pandemic is that the classes are mostly over Zoom at the moment so I've been able to continue. Begoña is dedicated to improving her students' learning and I can't believe how I have improved in the last year - so much so that I sometimes forget the English word for things now!! Gracias Begoña and I would advise anyone thinking about classes to give it a go!
