Bicycle toured through and were only allowed to stay 1 night (we wanted 2 so as to do some unloaded cycling in the local area the next day) as it was fully booked the next day. £16 each. Ouch. We were offered a standby pitch for 2 nights but it was right next to a childrens play area, so thought it would be rather noisy and another spot which didn't seem particularly safe to leave our stuff for our day ride, so we declined them. The staff were very helpful as there are no other campsites around. And after a long day's ride in the heat, our group pitched in an area all too ourselves (which wouldn't be available the next day) The oak area I believe, but had vacate by 12 the next day. Toilets were clean and so were the showers and grass nice and short with no topped grass left on. Unfortunately one of our party got locked in one of the showers for 30 minutes until we could hear her shouting.....the door had jammed and was promptly checked by the staff and put out of order. Each pitch has its own water supply which encouraged a group of feral youths to come into our area and start filling up their water pistols. When one of the members of our group was somehow hit by a stray shot of water. He politely asked one of the older children that he didn't want this to happen again. This resulted in a confrontation with the child's parent. We quoted the documents we were given on arrival "by booking you agree to prevent any member of your party from causing a nuisance or disturbance to fellow guests or staff in any way on site" Which thankfully due to the tension, allowed us to enjoy a quiet evening. The following morning the feral youth were loitering about and started throwing stones at us from over the hedge. On departure when we complained about the kids and told them there were quite a.few stones all over the grassed area, but told it is a family campsite as if we should expect that sort of behaviour.....

Stayed in a lodge, with a very comfortable double bed in a separate bedroom, there was a pull out sofa for more guests and a fully equipped kitchen. The view from our lodge was perfect with one of the smaller fishing lakes right in front of us. On the verandah was a fire pit / barbeque logs supplied. Lakes were well stocked and maintained and all areas were secured by anpr technology. Food & drinks: There is a shop on site, but times were restricted due to time of year we visited, small and very basic, but plenty of fishing bits and pieces Playground: For the kids every area, be it in the camping area or caravan park there are an excellent aray of play climbable equipment Dog-friendliness: The site welcomes pets
