Helping Hsnds is a good care company to work for. In particular the guaranteed pay contract was of great benefit to me when I first started as they could ease me in and gradually build up the hours. The pay is competitive and at the higher end of domiciliary care companies in York. The initial training is very good and quite informal. You also get plenty of shadowing shifts when you first start and the office team are very welcoming. There is also plenty of opportunity for further online or in house training.

I was made redundant whilst on maternity leave and saw helping hands advertising, after sending an application across I was contacted and interviewed within the space of a week, they were so helpful and understanding regarding child care and availability and allowed me to work what worked for me and my family, they have always been supportive and have a lovely office team that are approachable when needed!

I am elated to have finally employed a team of people who not only work efficiently and effectively but also support me (as well as caring for my son). Many years of untrustworthy service providers left me feeling lost and disheartened, I believed I would never have the opportunity to have my son live with me at home, due to his complex medical needs, but then I found Nic at Helping Hands and his dedicated team. Whilst always remaining professional, the team have become a working extension of my family and each carer has their own attributes and personality which compliments and meets my son’s complex needs.
