The system is just broken. Elderly people cannot get the appointments they need. No more blood tests can be done here which means trying to arrange to get to the hospital in Southampton. This you have to arrange yourself as well because the surgery cannot do it ...Once the blood test is done you have to then try to guess when the surgery gets the results back in order to call them up. Then you have a confusing conversation with the receptionist where they try and tell you what the results are in values rather than discussing actually what this means for your / your children's health with a doctor. It is just a shambles and means that the A&E system is being further overrun as patients cannot get the care they need from the surgery. It is really worrying to be ill or need medical help at the moment.

We joined HEMC in 2021 when we moved to the local area. I know everyone has different experiences but this surgery had the best reviews at the time so we went with them and tbh we're so glad we did! The care myself and my husband have received from here has been excellent (we are comparing it to previous experiences at other surgeries!!) and despite the long phone queues, they always try to help the best they can. The receptionists aren't always happy but im sure they get a lot of stick off of other patients who arent happy but we all need to remember they are human too and are just trying to do their jobs so i honestly take my hat off to them! I love the new way they do the triage for on the day appointments and have always been called for an on the day after ive submitted my e-consults or got an appointment when the econsult has told me to ring for one! Not once have i had a bad experience! And they were the reason why my husband's cancer was caught early enough that it didnt spread and the reason why he had the tumour removed within less than 4 weeks of first finding the lump! Cant thank them enough!! Plus we're able to get routine appointments within a week of contacting them. At previous surgeries we've had to wait up to a month!! Honestly, if you're not happy with the way things are done here then you need to go and try other surgeries as i guarentee you'll be back quick enough! They really are great at HEMC and they've helped us with any queries or concerns very quickly! Cant recommend enough!!

Poor conditions. Waiting area crowded. Long waits on the phone to reception queues of 20 to 30 people. They close the lines from 1 to 2 daily. On the website, the E consult always goes down. Doctors don’t call back when you’ve made an appointment for them to call you. Argumentative receptionist need to know every detail before you can even make an appointment. Worst surgery I’ve ever joined and will be looking to move elsewhere.

Appalling, 5 days ago about 8pm tried to do an e consult, not able to do one as not during the day! Tried 7.40pm Sunday Evening in reediness for 8am Monday morning, e consult not available at weekends!! I want to use the e consult when I want to when it is convenient to ME, not when the authorities say i must use it, not surprised with the state of the country! Health, HM, police, fire, education immigration need i say more !......

Excellent care and communication by this surgery due to my dad recently coming out of hospital. They have been so helpful with his care and giving me advice.
