This heaton park and playground is a very good place for family outing. However, one of the slide in Heaton Park Northern play area is very very bad. Last Sunday my wife, my daugher and I went to there and played this slide (the left one with a hump at the mid way. My wife slided down with my daughter (as my daughter cried and requested her to do so) and my wife bumped her tailbone right after the hump on the slide (I can say she was definitely felt directly to the ground from that hump), and she was extremely painful and she was still painful one day after, then we went to the A&E to have checking and she now need to take a week leave from work as she can barely walk and sit. This is a really bad experience and very bad design. I saw quite a number of kids played that particular slide (left one) and they dont like it and some of them hurted themselves as well. I urged the management team of this northern play area could fix this slide or at least put some soft matt at the bottom to avoid anyone else hurt their bottom/tailbone. In view of this accident, i only rate 1 star for this play area.
