Arrived at ward 6 @ 7.40am for an 8 am appointment, seems to be a problem with Covid-19 and had to wait a short while to be allowed in. Staff were top hold and made you feel at ease, only waited 30 minutes before getting ready for going to the operation room. When arriving for my treatment was made at ease by the theatre supervisor Stacey Mills who stopped with me during the whole treatment, and even returned me back to the holding ward 6, staff their also get 5 star’s all so caring, The only down side was the wait for tablets from their pharmacy before I was allowed home over 5 hours wait. Had lunch and dinner (tea) while waiting for tablets. (Puts extra costs) on the NHS. But all in all very satisfied with the treatment given. Ken S

I was recently admitted to Heartlands with chest pains. After waiting for sometime in A & E due to the huge queue which was never reducing I was seen in cubicles and was swiftly taken to cardiology assessment ward 9. The staff where lovely and attentive. I was assessed and then taken down to ward 6. Ward 6 is a very relaxed atmosphere which when you have chest pain is exactly what you need. The staff cannot do enough for you and their caring attitude shines through and put me at ease straight away. The ward came across as very professional run. And the best place I needed to be. I was looked after and cared for as if I was in a private hospital. All the staff had a smile for me whatever the time of day and couldn’t do enough to make me feel at ease and relaxed in what was a very worrying time for me. From the cleaners to the doctors everyone deserves my thanks and gratitude for all their help and reassurance. Just leaving a good review just doesn’t feel enough. Thank you thank you for all your help and kindness shown towards me. Big big shout outs to nurse Shopna who works so hard all her shift. Also porters Ken and Steve who never stop running patient’s around making sure they are where their supposed to be.with a smile and a chat. Also Helen in the records department running all over the hospital delivering and collecting all the vital bits of information the hospital needs to run so smoothly. You all deserve a big pat on the back from me and others for all your hard work in these worrying times. Well done to you all. Gerry Cook
