Dining at Hearth is a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and restaurant charming. Amazing food EVERY TIME and fantastic service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations (especially with my gluten intolerance!). Chef is clearly on top of his game with an ever changing, and always impressive, seasonal menu. A bold claim, but for me the best food experience I’ve had in Scotland… we’ve booked our next visit already 😉 Dietary restrictions: Normally I’m a little apprehensive, even with the GF alternative. Nothing to worry about here, had about 5 meals now and never any problems.

I had rather high expectations before dining here, I was not disappointed. We had travelled up from Kent recently to visit family and my brother and sister-in-law recommended we dine here, having found it a year or so ago and simply love it. The owners were so welcoming and had clearly taken great care when considering my dietary restrictions (being gluten and dairy intolerant can sometimes be a bit of a nightmare when eating out even when staff are aware in advance). I was encouraged to leave my meal choice in their hands, also aware of my love of fish. It's a bit of a risk doing something like this, but I felt completely at ease. My starter of trout was exceptional in every way, it was delicious (my husband isn't a great fan of fish unless it's in batter, but he sampled it and was surprised how nice it tasted). My main course of salmon was equally delicious and melted in my mouth.......I understand the sauce was made with dairy free cheese which was so flavour-some that I long to recreate when home. I don't generally indulge in desserts, but I was encouraged to try a little deep fried banana in batter served with a salted caramel sauce and ice cream (both gluten and dairy free), which was to die for 🤣. Everthing has such a personal touch, thank you so much....My husband was equally impressed with his food choices from the menus; the menus did look incredible, so much choice. I would certainly recommend dinning here whatever your dietary needs, although good to inform the chef in advance if you do have any dietay restriction so he can plan ahead and even surprise you. We wish we had a restaurant equal to this back home. We plan to return here on our next visit north. A heartfelt thanks to the owners, the friendly waitresses and the chef. Liz

Came to the Old Mill Inn with my Mum and family for Mother’s Day evening meal. Wow the place looks stunning and very comfortable. Staff were great, attentive and food served at good times while we enjoyed our drinks. I had the haggis Bon Bons which were super tasty and filling. Followed by the Highland Beef brisket roast - wow! Great serving and everyone tasted fresh and the Beef was so tender. My group all enjoyed our food and experience here. Fantastic location and great hosts!
