This is an old school steak house, much larger on the inside than it looks like from the outside. I was in a wheelchair at the time, and the front up the curb. We weren't there for the steak - we're from Nebraska after all - but had been told by the concierge at our hotel that they had the best Sticky Toffee Pudding in a, it was the best dessert I have ever eaten and my wife concurs. The pudding is a dark but tender cake with a cannel of English cream on top served in a pool of caramel sauce. Despite only ordering dessert, wait stáff treated us like we ordered the finest sirloin.

I bring my parents here every time they’re in town! The steaks are great - we’ve tried the chateaubriand and ribeye. This time we shared a prime rib and it was cooked perfectly to medium. Highly recommend the peppercorn sauce. Service was also great! Extensive wine list. Took 1 star away because the sides were really really tiny for the price. One sweet potato and one cup of wilted cabbage for about £15 is a joke.

Service was excellent and attentive. Steak was good, but if you're from a US city with great steakhouses you're going to be slightly disappointed. Drinks were excellent and dessert was delicious. Definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding. At some points in the evening it was hard to hear your fellow guests as it was a bit crowded and small feeling, while other guests were very loud. Not the fault of the restaurant, but the space itself.

Oh boy, where do I even start with this restaurant? Let me tell you, it was a masterpiece of awfulness. First, they conveniently "ran out" of the wine we wanted, but no worries, they had a fantastic alternative (insert eye roll). And guess what? They were also out of the spirit and mixer my friend ordered. Such impeccable stock management, right? Then it was time to order our food. My friend explicitly emphasized "medium" for his chateaubriand because he's not a fan of rare meat. Well, guess what arrived? A beautiful plate of what can only be described as blue steak. Bravo, chef, bravo! But fear not, for the waiter apologized and promised a replacement, with the added bonus of taking it off the bill. Hallelujah! However, that replacement took its sweet time, leaving my poor friend to watch us devour our meals while he twiddled his thumbs. It's only fair to savor every second of anticipation, isn't it? And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, the manager/supervisor swooped in to save the day! They graciously offered us a complimentary meal on Hawksmoor. How kind! Oh, wait, no. They conveniently ignored me and went straight to my friend for his email address. Because who needs consistency in customer service, right? All in all, this place is a true gem. Edit: The Manager has contacted me since and has apologised and assured me that this does not normally happen, I think I will give them another chance.
