My partner recently passed away in this care ? Home, he was in what they like to call ‘ palliative care’ I called it ‘palliative’ as care was not at the forefront of the homes priorities. I do have to praise two of the carers who both tried to do their best for my partner, one of whom gave her notice in during this time as she felt she was unable to carry out her job satisfactorily in this particular care home. The last few weeks of my partners life were pretty miserable here, myself and the children came every day and found the standards of care to be inadequate. Meals put on the bedside table and left there even when he was too weak to pick up a utensil to help himself, personal care not carried out till midday ( I did this a lot of the time) and not to a high standard . He had a necrotising bed sore due to the fact that he was not turned every two hours as per instruction from Broomfield Hospital ( where we also had a very traumatic experience) I tried to get him moved but he was deemed too frail for the journey to another ‘care’ home. Thank goodness he had us I feel for people in this place who have no relatives to oversee things. I will never forgive them or BUPA for how my beloved partner suffered and passed in this awful place.

I would like to thank everyone at Mallard House for the most wonderful care they gave to my father, their thoughtfulness was second to none and all became like a second family to us. Lots of love and thanks xx

One of the worst care homes I have ever been too, my nan was here for around three months and when I went there it was a terrible circus! The staff are useless. We went to visit my nan and we had to ask the staff four times to get her a drink of water as she was thirsty! There were many many more stories about this place that I could write about. Please don't look at the reviews on other pages as I have since found out the bad reviews are not posted and they only let the good ones go online! If you care about your loved ones, please please don't send them to this awful place!
