The greenhouse is very good quality but we had late delivery, the delivery truck crashed, smashed all the glass and destroyed a tree. Further delay. A brief apology was given nothing else. I am not sure if I would recommend given the experience and expense.

If you inherit a Hartley Botanic greenhouse with a new property purchase, Hartley Botanic won't provide any direct support or spare parts other than window seals. If the seller of your new property wants to charge you for a greenhouse mark it down as a no longer supported and tell them to take it up with Hartley Botanical. This is a new policy as I bought spares from them years ago, but a nice young lady was only able to provide details of after-market suppliers. They won't even supply items replace the spares that I previously bought from them. In a world where we expect to repair and renew, but not replace, what sort of example does this set? Update 11 Apr 2023 - they still haven't sent information about spares suppliers

As some others have said, they have a company policy to refuse to provide any help or repairs if you are not the original purchaser - even if you are willing to pay for the repairs, and waive any liability for accidental damage caused by the repairs. This means that if you purchase a house with one of these installed, and at any point it becomes damaged in any way, the people who manufacture, assemble, and know the most about it will not provide any assistance. The problem I have is that some window panes have slipped, so there is now an air gap allowing cold air in. You'd think this would be fairly easy to fix if you knew how to build it, but they won't even tell me how to fix it. Their advice is 'get a handyman to look at it'. The assistant I spoke to seemed genuinely embarrassed by the policy. Seems totally bonkers.

I purchased my Victorian glasshouse from Hartley Botanic, after a years of planning and searching around. It’s wasn’t cheap, but it’s something that you buy once in a lifetime and it’s quality beyond anything I have ever seen or experienced before. Having had two previous greenhouses, I wanted this to stand upright after the winter storms. It’s already proven itself. Now, from the sales point - I had great conversations, clear prices and even managed to change my initial order due to some unforeseen issues (measurement) on my part. I was given a delivery date but didn’t expect it to arrive on time because of shipping to Scandinavia and covid. But it arrived on schedule and I even went to see the shipment in the port to make sure everything was in order. Every piece was wrapped in and cocooned in protective sheaths. The shipping agent had never seen anything like it. I decided to install the greenhouse myself together with my dad, and received support from Hartley Botanic for all my many questions. Every piece was correct to the last millimetre. I have also had the need for after sales support and it’s so professional. I cannot recommend Hartley Botanic enough. They have been exceptional in the way they have followed up my initial query, to receiving nice brochures, answering my questions, providing plans, arranging delivery and support and service afterwards.

There’s a pattern to reviews of Hartley Botanic. People buying them give great reviews- great service from sales staff and installers- as it should be when you’re paying an eye watering amount. Then there are reviews from people who already own one or have inherited one. These reviews are generally a lot less positive- unhelpful sales/ customer service. I fall into this category. Having inherited a HB Classic Victorian Glasshouse, I called HB to ask for help/ instructions to relocate it as we’re redesigning our garden. So unhelpful. They don’t give help/ advice to anyone who isn’t the original purchaser and even if you are, you can’t expect anything if your greenhouse is more than a few years old. HB told me that I didn’t own the greenhouse as I wasn’t the original purchaser. When I said that I would call the original purchasers to ask them to contact HB, the senior sales manager at HB told me that they had relinquished the ownership of the greenhouse when they sold the house to me. So... I don’t own it, the original purchasers don’t own it... who does own it? They make a big deal of how long they’re supposed to last and how they will help and support owners through the years but my experience is that they’re not interested in sustainability or re-use. They would much prefer me to tear down my greenhouse, bin it and buy a shiny new one. Corporate greed at its very worst

My next door neighbours had a glass house installed today, I think the chaps names where Adam and Peter, and they where great, nose was kept to a minimum and where both very happy and friendly, and happy to answer my silly questions about the installation, glass house envy indeed

I have recently had a hartley botanic greenhouse installed. They have been fantastic from the very beginning. They gave me my options what i could have for the space we had. I had so many questions, they answered each and every single one of them. They gave me a date of when it would be delivered and installed and unbelievably they met that target! This has not happened with many other companies and it is always blamed on COVID. the greenhouse is superb quality. it is stunning.
