A bit of a yoyo experience. My daughter and I were treated to a pricey spa package (a well deserved treat following a harrowing 18 months tbh). We were so excited with it being a 5* hotel but some of it did not live up to expectation. Nice and clean locker/changing rooms, showers and toilets. Admittedly we aren't slimline but to have robes that wouldn't even meet, let alone tie, and to be told larger robes are like gold dust, was completely unexpected in a 5* establishment. The jacuzzi was a delight, hot and powerful, the pool was small. The steam room was out of order, very disappointing, but the sauna was clean and smelled good (have been in many damp/strange smelling ones). Fresh towels were in abundance, frequently changed. The relaxation room ran out of herbal teas so it was water all the way. Mud room was very enjoyable but a few minutes of brighter lights to enable seeing the instructions first would have been helpful. Lunch was OK but definitely not worth the £25 supposedly allocated. However the full body massage by Nancy was wonderful. Magic hands, beautiful oils and a really lovely lady. Best massage I have ever had and it saved the whole day's experience being disappointing. Overpriced and underwhelming.

I did not have a very relaxing day mainly due to staff service and awful massage. You can get much more value for money at local 3 star spas. Booking was simple and reception was very responsive and helpful to an email enquiry. On arrival the nearest outside doors was locked. Only a far door open we almost walked off before another guest let us know she had the same problem. The reception desk within the cafe is difficult to locate. Thought we was in the wrong place no staff said hello as we arrived or any point during our day. The welcome wasn’t very relaxing we was stood in reception to fill in our forms although the lady on reception was most helpful after offering a tour and explaining everything. The spa and cafe is beautifully set out with lots of lovely touches like the living moss wall and spiral stair case. The facility’s are all lovely, clean and work well. The jacuzzi was especially hot and strong. We had to wait to use some facilities although the spa wasn’t very busy it’s small. This wasn’t a problem but more loungers would be good to wait. There was about 5 all taken with towels. The terrace had no seating out despite it being a lovely sunny day. Would have loved to sit and enjoy the beautiful view. The changing rooms are lovely with nice products in the powerful showers but the drains are very dangerous flipping up if you tread on one end I nearly really hurt myself. Theres plenty of showers, toilets and space as well as large private changing rooms. Unfortunately we was only given one towel which was taken. We asked a cleaning attendant where we could get another but we had to walk back to reception sopping wet there’s no spares in the changing rooms. I felt in the way trying to get changed while housekeeping was hoovering around my feet. Theres water on offer but it was warm from a container and some herbal tea in the relaxation room. Most spas usually have some juice or coffee for spa day guests. The treatment rooms are a bit boring I’ve seen much nicer in budget spas but I don’t care for the room it’s all about the massage which unfortunately was the worst I’ve ever had. The pressure was a rub at best, there was no routine or symmetry. Most of it was spent with one hand it was uncomfortable and I couldn’t wait for it to end. I’ve never felt that way about a massage before and I’ve had many. It was a back neck and shoulder massage for 45mins but only my back and the back of my legs was massaged. The therapist spoke a lot and stopped massaging as she was speaking. The bed was very heated which was nice but it got very hot. There was no special touches, I find every spa has their own signature thing that makes it extra special but I was not even offered a glass of water after my treatment. I hate complaining about a massage I’ve never needed too but it was awful - completely effortless. The lunch was lovely you could pick chicken, salmon or falafel then there was 5 salads you could help yourself to all of which was really nice.  Fro pudding there was a choice of 2 cakes but both was dry. There wasn’t much selection of soft drinks, I was told smoothies was not available. We did very much enjoy lunch it was the best part of our day but not the reason I choose to visit a spa. The beautiful building, view, lovely lunch, spotless cleanliness and the powerful warm spa facilities are the plus points but it isn’t enough I wouldn’t return or recommend. I didn’t leave feeling relaxed and special by the staff like every other spa day elsewhere. I contacted the spa with my experience but no response.

I loved my spa day treat at HarSPA. The staff were so friendly and helpful upon arrival. Towels, robes, and slippers were all provided along with various water stations dotted throughout the spa. There is a mud room, a relaxation room, small pool, steam room, sauna, and a jacuzzi. Everything was so clean and tidy, and the towels were pearly white. There was someone walking around and tidying each room throughout the day. I had a “work it out” treatment for 90 (ish) minutes. She was running behind schedule to begin with, and then seemed to finish 5 minutes earlier than I expected. So, I think I missed out on 10 minutes worth of treatment. However, the actual massage was phenomenal. Can’t remember the name of the therapist, but she was great, and applied a firm pressure throughout as requested. Lunch afterwards was great, there was an issue with the café for some reason so we were able to order from the HarBAR menu which was awesome. I would absolutely go back. Thank you for an awesome and relaxing day!
