I am Appalled at the service here at Harrogate lodge, after visiting a friend today I’ve been extremely disappointed at the level of care that I’ve witnessed, my friend is currently on the rehabilitation ward (not the dementia unit). The care staff were friendly with visitors and with the service user, however my issue is not with the care staff attitude, it’s with the CLEAR lack of training that has been given by higher management. Witnessing one Carer do an illegal manoeuvre on a resident called a DRAG LIFT, The correct way to move and handle a service user would be with a slide sheet and x2 carers would it not???? But instead the carer just hooked her arm onto an 80 year olds arm and shoulder and dragged her up the bed. After working in care for the past 3 years myself I categorically wouldn’t be able to go home with a clear conscience without following the correct procedure, I will be contacting the following with a complaint; Care Quality Commissioner & Leeds social services. I look forward to your response and will be calling the home in the days following to hear the outcome of this. Regards Harvey Hunt

My wife, who has dementia, has been a resident at the Lodge for over nine years. In all that time her care has been nothing less than excellent. The Carers, Nurses and all other staff are polite, friendly and, above all, professional. The senior staff set the tone and extra training is always ongoing. I visit several times a week and have no worries when it is time to go as I know she is safe and well looked after.

My Dad was at deaths door December 2020 as shown on the bottom photo . After being placed as a resident in Harrogate Lodge Nursing Home we as a family have nothing but praise for the care my Dad is receiving. This is all due to the dedication of all the staff and we know my Dad is in safe hands. The food is varied and a very good standard and his room is kept spotless .The gardens are also lovely . Heartfelt thanks to all staff and management Harrogate Lodge .

Having worked with the events co-ordinator Amy recently on a number of community projects with Harrogate Lodge, I am in awe of the amazing work that goes into making residents here comfortable and happy. All the staff are thoughtful, attentive and they treat the residents with the upmost respect and dignity. It's been great visiting the residents and seeing them smiling and happy, there's always plenty of activities for them to get involved in and the facility is so clean and homely. Great work every single member of the team!

I am the Magic Moments Co-ordinator here at Harrogate Lodge. I have worked here for almost 2 years, I can honestly say it’s been the best years of my life. Staff are extremely friendly, we work as a team throughout all departments. Our residents well-being is our priority and it is fulfilled with happiness and joy. The relatives of residents are so supportive. Harrogate Lodge is one big happy family. It’s a pleasure to work with such a great team!

Staff were supposed to make sure mum was drinking every hour. Chart was never filled out. She ended up in hospital with severe dehydration. She also needed a dietician because apparently they weren't making sure she was eating either. I went to visit & one of the 'care workers' left me in reception fir 15 mins because she 'forgot about me'. I had to just walk through in the end. They don't want you visiting at dinner time, probs because when I got there, mum's food was cold & congealed and she hadn't taken a bite. She was slumped over in chair, looking like she was going to fall out. No care providers anywhere near for the two & a half hours I was there. Mum will not be going back!

Not the greatest place. Staff aren't friendly. Need to make appointments to see family in advance & when you go there are no other visitors there to say its "full" glad my gran is out of there. Let my gran run out of stoma bags .. washing not washed.. even though we said we would do it. They said they would and gran was left with no clean clothes.
