** Misleading room advertisement, bad communication and not fulfilling contract obligations ** I do not recommend booking a room at Harrington Housing London. Throughout my stay it was very hard to reach the team and they flat out denied or ignored the points I raised about the room and appartment failing to live up to the description . What's worse, is that Harrington Housing fails to meet their contract obligations. The contract clearly mentions a smart TV and streaming subsciption, neither of which were present. There is no co-working and/or co-living space as described in the advertisement. The team did not reply to most of my emails in which I raise these points and in the few instances in which they did reply it was after several reminders and whatsapp messages. These replies were short and ignored the questions/points raised. Finally, It took the team more than a month to fix one of the sinks in the appartment that was completely black, filled with mold and smelled horrible. It had apparently been like this long before my arrival and I had to continuously remind them to send someone to fix (you also pay a cleaning fee before you move in). Do not fall for this scam!

One star is too many...I now call this 'harrowing housing' after the most awful experience; thankfully taking legal advice saved me from spending any money on my son's postgraduate accommodation with this company. I find it hard to write but this is a slick and sophisticated scam - nothing adds up and the contracts are untenable. Following a (nice - but then I am very naive obviously) tour at a London property, I was unable to get any response subsequently via email/telephone/messaging. I have come to the conclusion that the whole set up is fake and would advise anyone to steer well clear. If something looks too good to be true, it usually is...back to accommodation through the University itself!
