Finding the right speech therapist for you child is incredibly difficult. We have been so lucky to find Phil! In addition to being a stammering specialist he seems to have boundless energy and a natural ability to put the whole family at ease. Before he met my son, he took the time to find out his interests and has focused sessions around these whilst advising on strategies and techniques through a series of exercises. This has resulted in a huge change in terms of him managing his stammer whilst also improving his self confidence. Phil has seen my son as a ‘whole’ rather than a boy with a stammer and has even taken the time to support him with other underlying issues which has been incredibly helpful. My son looks forward to every session and has hugely benefited from extra meetings where he has had the opportunity to meet other teenagers who are experiencing life with a stammer. It’s so reassuring to know that Phil is there and always willing to listen when he is needed. And my son’s opinion? ‘Phil is just brilliant!’

Our 15 year old son has shown great progress since working with Phil. He looks forward to his appointments - both in clinic and online - and every session is relaxed and fun. Phil's approach to speech therapy is a perfect balance of clear directions on techniques to help with fluency and informal, friendly advice. Phil's manner is professional and welcoming and he fills every session with games and challenges and topics of conversation which really engage our son. Speaking about stammering in an open way has really helped to take away some of the stress and self-consciousness that our son feels and these conversations combined with the methods to help manage the stammer have led to noticeable improvements in his fluency.

Phil Robinson is a exceptional therapist who has built up my son’s confidence with skills and techniques to help him gain control over his stammer. We particularly chose Phil as we felt that he had first hand experience that he could share, as my son puts it, “He gets it, he understands how difficult it can be” I really can’t recommend Phil enough, he has gone beyond that of previous therapists, talking to the school and making time to talk to our son when times have been very tough during lockdown. He has been knowledgeable, informative and often innovative in his approach to stammering and has worked with my son both in the clinic and on zoom. We are all really pleased with the on going therapy and results!

I came across Philip's website when looking for a speech therapist to support my now 7 year old daughter who has a stammer. After two rounds of NHS and one round of private SLT we were looking for someone who would be able to provide guidance, advice (for us) and build confidence and resilience for our daughter. I have to say that starting along on this journey with Philip has, by far, been the best decision we have made in a very long time. After the complimentary initial phone consultation I was super confident that we were on the right track and I feel exactly the same now. My daughter thoroughly enjoys the sessions and has spoken more about her stammer since meeting with Philip than she ever had previously. I have felt, for the first time on the SLT road, that we are lucky enough to have found someone who approaches the sessions not only from the role of speech therapist but also from the role as supporter and friend, and for this I will be eternally grateful.
