I was looking to play bowls before covid and found it difficult to find greens open when I saw a link for Harehills BC. After contacting Laura and calling at green one Monday in October 2022 cold and raining people playing bowls too. I commented "I thought was like cricket rain stops play BUT no it dose not apparently." ;-) Five days later Laura lent me bowls and joined in the winter pairs and since then I have been hooked, bought my own bowls within two weeks and spending about four days a week at green playing or practicing. I joined in two teams Monday and Wednesday in the 2022 summer league for Harehills and did well being still 1st year bowling. I now looking forward to this summer 2023 in at least three teams to improve and more succes. Great skip and good team spirit makes matches fun and enjoyable to play in. They is always plenty going on here too not just bowls with activities and helping the community. I would recommend bowls to all young and elderly and people with disabilities, out in the fresh air and is good for your health and wellbeing. Peter
