TAKE CARE, if considering using this company- read the 1 star reviews 1st, here and on Trustpilot. Trustpilot 1 Star Reviews get taken down by Hampton Lovett, my reviews on this company have been taken down 10 times by Trustpilot, despite providing evidence, hard copies of the agreement, confirmation letter from HL and Final Demand letter from April 2023. If my reviews have been taken down 10 times, how many other peoples 1 Star Reviews on Hampton Lovett have been taken down? The ones that remain are likely only the tip of the iceberg or poor experience. OUR EXPERIANCE On the 12th March 2020 we had a meeting with their rep, who told us they had good data to back an appeal on 2017 rate period, we resultingly signed up. We paid the GBP 7.3k+ VAT fixed fee within the stipulated 21 day period. After much follow up as we had heard nothing they asked for our rental agreement which we had told them in the meeting we did not have as the building was freehold. They then told us they were struggling to get sufficient supporting evidence for an appeal. Finally after much chasing they submitted an appeal on the 1st September 2022, 2.5 years later, 3 years later we still have no outcome. Next we get an invoice No. 325991 for another GBP 7,892.64 including VAT for the next rating period, even though IT IS NOT in the contract as we had paid a fixed fee. Had a persistent lady chasing payment of the invoice on the phone saying it is in the contract, IT IS NOT. Followed by a Final Demand. After 3 years we do not have any result, and therefore believe it reasonable to say they are in breach of contract. Our impression of these guys is they take your money and do very little. Some people might call it rogue trading. Others might question their integrity, honesty, professional ability and conduct! This is a truthful, honest and frank review which can be supported by documentation and evidence. 1 star ratings are I believe accurate, 5 star ratings I believe are mostly fake. BE WARNED, take care, I would recommend finding a company that operates on a NO WIN NO FEE basis, which we had used in the past and found good., at least they put their money where there mouth is. Do not use this Company! We paid this Company 5 years ago for a ratings review and they have done nothing. Their surveyor left, the case was not handed over and we missed the timeframe to challenge as we subsequently left the property which they were made fully aware of yet I was still invoiced recently for the new ratings list for a property I left 3 years ago. I complained to them in November 2022 and to date they have not formally addressed the complaint and they no longer respond to my emails. Find someone else!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Charged a fortune, took over a year to get the application in because staff kept leaving and no one was in touch to I form that they are the new contact person. Emails went unanswered. Application was finally rejected for very valid reasons. Was promised the world, charged in advance, and nothing came of it. More than that, they try to automatically charge you for a follow up application for the next rating period, even though the previous application was unsuccessful. When I said I don’t want them to do the application because they failed and misled me with the first one, they threatened to charge a cancellation fee of 50% (about £2000) + £300 fee. Crooks.
