New patient had a few consultations jury is still out tbh had some of the reception staff are lovely some of them have attitude have not managed to differentiate which ones are which yet. Had a little argument about poor service with one receptionist as they gave 72 hours for a response and would I accept an appointment 3 days later and I said no I am not accepting your poor service and then she went and told gp I was been aggressive ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ so the GP called me Dr P male doctor and stated having a go at me I explained that I was not been aggressive and told him what he said then he said they are very busy and I said tbh if you have the time to call me and give me a telling off for nothing then you have time to do the phone consultation then he hung up. Female GP dr B seems pretty good but believe she things most things are in peoples heads but I kind of like her directness she does not shy away . This practice does seem to complain itโ€™s under staffed well in that case they need an ECP to lighten the load but have to say I know bigger practices with same staff ratio who are more accommodating but i am out of there catchment area. I have heard around the village people having to wait for things such as meds appointments longer than I feel appropriate. Symphony need to invest and put a EPC in there if they can not cope with the patients they need more support in there or find another way to work more efficiently. Dr b is friendly yet direct which is good still not sure on treatments she seems to shy away from medications infact a locum dr gave me medication and eased my symptoms I was still not right and saw dr B and she said stop taking the meds I was prescribed by locum the week before and now this week back in a worse position trying to figure out her logic dr bates amazing locum doctor but you find locums tend to be better as they donโ€™t have the same pressures as resident gps and work with fresh eyes

Since moving to Montacute six years ago, my wife and I have always had exceptionally good service and treatment from this surgery, and right from the beginning. Everything from common ailments to several major surgeries dealt with professionally.

Where to start. rude receptionists with terrible attitudes. Three day wait for an appointment for my 4 year old daughter which I had to fight for, multiple phone calls and insisting that she couldn't be diagnosed over the phone. Incorrect medication prescribed and prescriptions not being sent across to the pharmacy when I had been assured they had been. I dread having to contact the surgery I really do, it's gotten much worse since being taken over by Symphony. Avoid if you're lucky enough for that to be an option.

I have recently relocated to Somerset from East Sussex. As I live in Stoke sub Hamdon I decided to sign onto the local surgery. I have received professional welcoming friendly advice and support from the moment I signed up. Nothing has been too much trouble and I class myself as quite a complicated patient !! with quite a few different needs. Doctor Blaydes has always been extemely attentive and helpful in assisting me with my physical needs and has done the necessary referrals with no problems at all and dealt with them very swiftly which I am extremely grateful for. The team on reception have always been most welcoming and on occasion when I was running low on a repeat prescription as a one off they have very kindly gone out of their way to get it prescribed and sent to the adjacent extemely useful chemist next door. This happens to be open till half past six majority of days so very helpful for those who work full time. I feel very blessed to have such an excellent doctors surgery on my doorstep and whenever I have had to phone am always only no 1 in the queue !! In East Sussex I was invariably number 18 or so !! So again excellent prompt responsive communication with very friendly helpful staff on the other end . I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Hamdon Medical centre for always providing excellent customer service, care , support and ongoing advice and guidance where necessary.

I'd love to be able to give this review 0 stars but the system will not let me. Just like the receptionist who answered my phone call who wouldn't let me explain my situation. When she answered the phone, I explained I was staying in the village on holiday and I immediately got shot down and got told 'As you are a temporary visitor here, no doctors are available to see you. You will need to contact another surgery or dial 111'. I never got the chance to explain that I had tested positive for Covid and that the NHS had emailed to say I could take part in a drug trial available from this medical ctr and that I am vulnerable due to my health situation. I'm not special expecting different treatment than anybody else, I was telephoning for advice to see if they could help me while in the village. Unfortunately I was never given the chance to explain anything.

Dire just dire, the locums are good but the resident female doctor is terrible, I did a degree in sports science and can say for a fact what she told me was not only completely wrong but dam right dangerous. I think she gets paid to get everyone on anti depression meds. Avoid in fact run for your life!

The practice's engagement with the elderly is shocking. A relative repeatedly asked by the receptionists to access things via the internet which she and many others don't even have. Telephone appointments where she is talked at not listened to. 2 stars only because of 1 excellent nurse who actually saw her face to face on 1 occasion.
