We just returned from a two night stay at the Ham Hideaway in their safari tents. In total there was 4 adults and 3 children so we had 2 safari tents which made it comfortable for all. The tents and bathroom facilities were clean and the bed fairly comfortable. It’s a small camp site so not much space for kids to play etc. Unfortunately the major issue we had was that on both nights that we stayed, the hotel had a wedding on each night with loud music playing until 11.30pm. After the music stopped we then had to listen to all the guests leave (as the tent backed onto the car park) and on one night there was loud singing and shouting from the car park for an hour! The ‘Butler’ service also wasn't great as when we arrived he was clearly stressed about the weddings so didn’t give us the time of day. He even used to walk past us and not even say hello. The check in was EXTREMELY rushed and brief - to the point that it felt we were a hindrance to him and we were also categorically told that because of the weddings we couldn’t use the hotel’s restaurant for dinner or breakfast. That was a shame considering it was specifically written on the campsite’s web site as a food option. Lastly to say this place is dog friendly is an understatement. I would say it’s dog tolerant. The minute we arrived before even welcoming us to the site we were told quite sternly by 2 members of staff that dogs had to be kept on the lead at all times even in the campsite which was closed off from the hotel. All in all we felt that the hotel being next to the camp site wasn’t in fact a benefit but quite the opposite. As a glamping site however I would recommend it but only if you’ve checked the hotel has no weddings booking for those nights!

We stayed in one of the Shepard huts, it was amazing, very cozy and cute. Our host Chris was very welcoming and went out of his way to make sure we had a good time. He was full of local knowledge and good food spots. The views from the hut were vast and beautiful, it had a very calm and relaxing atmosphere with very little outside noise. The food was also excellent that was served to us at the blazing donkey just next door. Will absolutely return again!

Just got back from staying in Sweet Briar shepherds hut!! Wow so amazing, wot a lovely place, beautuful surroundings and nice and relaxing!! I have to say Chris and colleagues have got to be the nicest most helpful and pleasant people! Food was lovely. Can't fault anything!!! Worth a visit!!
