Appalling quality turf. Looks like it has been grown in shade under trees. More bare muddy patches than green grass. What grass there was, was course and not lawn quality. My customer justifiably insisted the full 116 rolls were taken up and binned. After over an hour of phone calls to various people in customer services and threats of escalating to trading standards, I accepted an offer of around a 70% refund. I have been left over £700 down on this job after having to take up, and dispose of the poor turf, and replace it with new, good quality turf from another supplier. A very costly mistake that I won't be making again!

Avoid using this company! We ordered x20 rolls of turf with almost half the order arriving dry and brittle. We laid it straight away but could already tell half of the lawn was dead. I contacted the customer the same day with my disappointment, they just asked me to provide images, and then I never heard from them again! I think I have emailed around x6 times chasing up, but have not received any further response, which is extremely bad customer service. I have requested my money back, but I am still waiting to hear back! I wont hold my breath - and suggest you save yourself the time and money and avoid using them!

Be very careful using this company, they deliver to residential properties using pallet trucks designed for business deliveries. They expect to leave 2 tons of aggregate materials on the kerb or in our case in the middle of a lane. (They will then charge you for a failed delivery) So do yourselves a favour and go to a proper builders merchant who deliver using a grab wagon.

Good things first - it was delivered when they said it would be. No further good things. What was delivered to me was extremely dry. It was collected from Hallstone on Tuesday, and delivered to me Wednesday, but it was obviously cut before the weekend - not on the Monday which I had assumed. The lawn was in terrible shape, very brittle, kept tearing as I tried to pick the rolls off the pallet. Managed to get it all down, and other than the very dry edges, it looked 'ok'. now several days later, I can see the amount of meadow grasses on this lawn I was sent. Ive used other suppliers previously and received a top quality product, but the amount of meadow grass and time it will take me to put right makes me wish I had ordered from elsewhere. seriously disappointed.

The turf is good quality but beware the sods are grown on plastic netting which huge danger to the environment this is not mentioned when purchasing. I would look elsewhere.

Do yourself a favour and read the bad reviews online before ordering from Hallstone. Our turf was meant to be delivered on a Friday but ended up being delivered on Monday 5pm. I can live with it being late but the grass arrived overheated after being on a deliverytruck all day. When we started to lay turf immediately after being delivered we found it to be hot yellow and black and slimy in large parts from the heat stress. We knew the grass was already dead but had not option but to lay and hope for the best. Despite our best efforts the lawn now looks terrible a week after laying. As you can see from the pics, the grass is dead in parts and will have to be replaced. We complained as soon as we laid the turf and have rung multiple times to complain but customer service are yet to respond. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

I read previously about their bad delivery and thought it was one off.... Terrible, failed to arrive on the delivery date 8 to 6pm for which I took a day off work. Was then told 3 other dates but none were specific dates. Company is clearly incapable of providing specific delivery dates or sticking to them... All at your inconvenience.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !. I am a handyman and ordered turf and topsoil for a job . When they did not turn up I rang them at 16;30 , I was told I would not get my order today as it was still sat in the distribution depot !! . Also no guarantee if it would come the next day !! . No communication whatsoever from them , Absolutely appaling service . AVOID. UPDATE 30/04/21 , Just read the reply which is an "off the shelf " standard response . I have re ordered from ONLINE TURF , order went in wednesday when this amatuer outfit let me down ,, and delivery today ( Friday ) . they have just sent me a tracking I.D. and it is on the truck coming to me !!. Also after I cancelled the order with Amatuer HALLSTONES , I had a call from the delivery driver the next day saying he was about to deliver my 3 day old perished turf !!!! ... you couldnt make it up !. A word of advice to HALLSTONES ...... Change your distribution contractor . STILL AVOID THIS COMPANY .
