Bought a bike online, got to Luton store to find out it is a demo bike and cannot be sold. Advised Bedford store has 2 in stock. Drove 50mins in rush hour traffic to purchase (again, as refund takes a couple of days). The 2 bikes in store were 1 demo bike (not for sale) and 1 bundle bike (with 12month care package and lock). I did not want the package and agreed to purchase a thule proride 598 instead. Was told I could not have the bike for a few days as nobody in store was qualified to provide the safety certificate. Advised manager will be in the next day. Next day I drove 1h to store and explained to the store assistant I want the bike to take today etc. Went through some of the same and agreed no care package or bike lock but instead a thule rack. Finally was able to purchase the bike for 10 year old nephew who is buzzing for it. Final service was good but previous service was not helpful. Halfords can improve by advertising bikes in stock only when they are purchasable. Overall I'm happy but I very nearly shopped elsewhere.

We came into store to purchase our son’s new bike. Claire and Darren were so helpful and knowledgeable not only in aiding us choose the right bike but also showing us the stores promotions allowing us to buy two bikes! We can’t fault the service we received and will be using Halfords in the future for servicing and further purchases!
