Hackney Council has been nothing but difficult and not understanding and their PCN system seems driven to pressure people into paying without considering appeal. My wife got a PCN for driving through a certain area. She made an appeal online and a week later we got a letter from them saying they don't accept representations from a 'third party' (car is registered in my name) and one needs to send a letter of authority (no way to do online!). We sent it but they said they haven't received it after a week when I queried over the phone (which I honestly don't believe or they take ages to open it) and wouldn't even accept granting authority over the phone and pressurise into paying because otherwise the fine would increase since it's been 14 days. To me that is unfair tactics and meant our appeal wasn't even considered. The only response I got was that I should've sent the letter as a tracking letter but that's just the symptoms of a system that is clearly not fit for purpose. No understanding, willingness to cooperate or humanity, I was told every action has a consequence and to better look at signs next time!

Is ANYONE ever picking up the housing need line??? Been trying to call for 3 weeks and being mugged off the phone... Never have I experienced anyone picking up that phone??? Why are people paying council tax??? When the council is doing so little ( nothing) for the people in this borough... Hackney council shameful organisation...can't even fix a cyber attack on their website for over 2 years now incompetent and unprofessional!!! I wrote this review 10 months ago today 12.04.2023 I adjust the housing need service hasn't changed!! Nobody is available to take your call right now every time all the time.This is a serious issue! How are people in need meant to get Help???

Dreadful. Their system was hacked for ages so we couldn't pay the council tax. Then their payment system went down. And then their online accounts are down too. Terribly run. As others have said, would give 0 if I could.

Since 2019 my kitchen ceiling has been leaking on and off, I reported this. Up to this day the matter hasn't been sorted, I haven't been offer any compo for the stress this has caused. I have a large crack in my kitchen ceiling and the said they will repair the damage, but I don't see the point. Until they fix what causing the leaks, why fix the cracked ceiling. 🤔🤔🤔

Me and my mum have been on the hackney housing list for so long and we are on number 1 at the moment but every single time we bid for a house they choose not to get back but back when we used to be number 2 or 3 and we bidded they’d instantly tell us to come view a house just to tell us it isn’t our house but they just wanted us to see. Terrible people!
