It’s actually quicker to get to from Newby/Scalby than the nurseries and playgroups in town!! A true gem of a playgroup. We visited loads of nurseries in and around Scarborough but none compared to Hackness. The outdoor space is amazing, the free flow style of play allows for a true freedom to learn and play. The forest school aspect of the nursery is what really puts it ahead and it backs onto it’s own private woodland. The staff genuinely care and the kids have so much fun sliding down mud banks and cooking marshmallows on the camp fire. Fresh air, mud, free flow, space, caring and a wholesome education. As a family we absolutely love this place.

A great playgroup. The forest school is wonderful, my little boy loves making pancakes and exploring the wildlife, while getting as muddy as possible woodland just behind the preschool 😀
