Harrison Allen is an outstanding tuition agency. I have been an English tutor with Harrison Allen for 12 years and have always found the staff to be professional, friendly and very supportive of their tutors. The tutors I have worked alongside when teaching in small groups in schools have also been keen to collaborate and work together towards the same goals. During the pandemic when GCSEs were cancelled, I joined other agencies and not one could live up to the high standards of Harrison Allen in terms of professionalism, pay and how well they treat their tutors. If you have any problem, the staff are always there to assist and will respond straight away with a solution. You always feel valued and respected as a tutor with Harrison Allen and in turn this helps you to be effective in your work. Harrison Allen continues to be the best tuition agency I have worked with and I hope they will always be an integral part of the private tuition sector.

Harrison Allen is run by a group of fantastic women who are highly professional and have a wealth of experience; they are friendly, kind, and supportive. It is a genuine pleasure to be part of the Harrison Allen tutoring team. The initial Harrison Allen interview process is very thorough and full training is given. I was made to feel welcome right from the start. At Harrison Allen systems work. Tutors are well paid and paid promptly; daily travel is added too. I never feel I am working alone – advice and guidance from the team or from other tutor colleagues is only an email, text, or a phone call away. Any question I have – no matter how small – is answered swiftly. Most important of all are our students. They matter a great deal. Harrison Allen enables me to work with a diverse range of students – of all ages with differing needs both online if necessary or more usually face to face. Whether tutoring onsite at a school or offsite in a local library, learning takes place in a one-to-one setting allowing me to provide tailored academic support for each child in a nurturing context. Being able to work in this way has been lifechanging for me. Time and time again over the last six months I have observed students who, unable to cope with the pressures of school for multiple reasons, begin to flourish and thrive once they experience one-to-one tuition. When the inner belief and confidence of a vulnerable student starts to grow then their skills in their subject start to grow too. And that is lovely to witness. Hess tutored our 8 year old son and he couldn't have been more kind and patient with him. Hess tailored each lesson specifically to our son's interests, linked this with what was being taught at school each week (as far as possible) and ensured there was a good level of challenge in the work. We would definitely use HA and Hess again.

Unprofessional, ignorant, incompatible and irresponsible! They never response emails on time to give updates. You always have to chase them for any single information. They lost or kept my Enhanced DBS for weeks, which is a confidential document that belongs ONLY TO ME which they were supposed to and promised to send it to me the next day after they received it!!! They didn't! I needed my EDBS urgently and kept emailing them to ask where my EDBS is and asked them to send it back to me, but just received excuses, until they find it! They exhausted me in the process deliberately to make me quit the process and also I was told by Harrison Allen staff member that my references refused to send a reference letter. I checked with my references and it was proved that reference letter was sent on time and I even read the reference letter written for me!!! I was discriminated and treated unfairly in the process and pushed to quit. So, I quit as I see no point to be in contact with these unprofessional and incompatible staff. Such a negative environment. I have been living and working in the UK for more than 6 years now, I have never experienced this level of weirdness.
