I’ve been playing for about 10 months now. At first I relied on the many on-line resources available to help you learn the basics, and they were a good starting point. But about three months ago I decided that a flesh-and-blood teacher might accelerate my learning curve. There are a lot of them to choose from, but my Internet search led me to Connor, just as yours has. I’ve had twelve lessons, and I can’t believe the difference it’s made in my progress. Connor has a well thought-out analytical approach to helping you become an independent player. In a few months he’s taken me through the basics of identifying chords in guitar tab notation and reading eighth note and sixteenth note rhythms. He’s helped me a lot to speed up my chord changes, the number one problem for most beginners. I’m well on my way to memorizing the natural notes on the fret board, a task many more advanced players shy away from. And now he’s got me tackling barre and power chords. When I started with Connor I would never have imagined that I’d already be working on not only making those chords, but changing between them and integrating them into a Beatles song. And I certainly can’t say I’ve mastered it, but I feel like I’m on the path. This song is a real challenge for me, but Connor’s helped me break it into achievable pieces and analyze how to approach each bit to begin to get it. Probably the highest compliment I can pay Connor is that when I’m working on my own, I’m already beginning to anticipate what he’d say in a particular situation. “Slow down”… “Never look at the right hand”… “Take it one measure at a time”… “Take it one finger at a time”… When a teacher can get inside your head so fast…that’s a good teacher.

Excellent teacher! From the first lesson I felt like I was learning, improving and understanding at a pace I was happy with. He explains everything very clearly and is happy to revisit points.
