I couldn't asked for a better teacher than Jim. He's patient, always willing to help, and encourages you all along the way. Being an older student, I thought learning the guitar was going to be difficult, but Jim made it super easy. He broke things down in to easy manageable lessons to focus on a few key things. Slowly things were brought together and I was playing the guitar! I've been taking lessons since the beginning of the year and look forward to something fun each week. I have been taking lessons with Jim now for about 4 months and the development different that I am seeing is outstanding. I come from a bluegrass acoustic background and have never attempted lead electric guitar until now. I’m huge fan of the rock genre as well as blues and classic rock. Jim is a fantastic teacher with decades of experience in the music business. Whether you want to learn acoustic or electric, fingerstyle or slide, Jim is your man. I have been taking lessons from Jim for about a year and am extremely pleased with my progress. He seamlessly integrates music theory into lessons in a way that keeps you engaged. I have picked up and put down the guitar many times over the years, never making great progress. In a year with Jim I can seamlessly change between chords, play with a pick and fingerstyle, play whole songs, and bar chords.
