I first met Jonny after I saw a video of him playing a song I just knew I had to learn (if not for how it sounded, then because I wanted to write my master's thesis on the piece!). Naturally, I wanted to learn from him; his playing style was so comfortable and natural yet at the same time sounded great. Not only did I learn the piece from Jonny, but he helped me break down my own errors in my playstyle and fundamentally altered the way I approach any piece of music on my guitar. Having guitar lessons from Jonny was a very wise decision for me. His approach was great, he was able to identify my main areas of weakness and build exercises and lessons around them. He was constructive, always encouraging and never once made me feel like a poor or inadequate player. The result for me is quite profound, it’s like a light has been turned on and for the first time I can see where I’m going and what I’m trying to achieve. Practice is now always more focused, I definitely play more calmly and feel a lot more relaxed about it all. My lessons were via Skype, which I had reservations about until I tried them and discovered they actually worked much better for me than I could have expected. It also proved to me the benefit of having a qualified teacher. I will hopefully have some more lessons before too long and I would recommend Jonny to anyone else who may be considering them.

Really easy introduction into the world of guitar. Jonny, with no pressure and a relaxed manner has helped me pick one up and not feel overwhelmed by the whole experience. From choosing a guitar that suits me to overcoming a life time aversion to the world of chords, scales and notes. I'm a newbie and really happy but looking at his Youtube videos he also has so much to offer others further along the road. If only I'd started earlier......

I started lessons with Jonny face to face six years ago. We now meet most weeks for lessons on Skype. Jonnys a guitar genius. His teaching style is subtle, intelligent and relaxed. You don’t realise the effect he has on you and your playing until you look back over time but it’s totally transformative. Like any instrument you have to put the time in, there are no shortcuts but I cannot imagine a better teacher/mentor/friend to guide you through the process. Jonnys turned my dream of if being a guitarist into reality and if your serious about learning to play you could not find a better teacher.
