Shabby building - getting redone now tho! Some brilliant teachers but as with all schools, some interesting ones. On the whole, a good school

I left guiseley school nearly 30 years ago and hopefully the kids of today, including a family member, are still benefiting from the same teachers.

This school should be ashamed of it's bullying policies, my child attended this school from another area, and spent 2 years of hell here, the teachers were just as bad as the small minded students that attended. As to say left with one GCSE and we have being picking up the pieces ever since! I say close it, restaff it and turn it in to an academy!!!

I have almost finished my final year at Guiseley School, I have studied there for the past 7 years and I have regretted chosing this high school since my 2nd year. The majority of the teachers are good and will try to help, but there are some that ruin the whole experience of high school. They don't always deal with bullying the way they should and as quickly as they school. The leadership team have little control over behaviour and they don't reward the children that are classes as 'middle students'. Not to mention, the school needs revamping, the tables and chairs are old and battered and the work books are always scribbled in and messy. I would not recommend this school for the reasons mentioned, but as I also said, some of the teachers are lovely and will go out of their way to help you. If given the opportunity to start high school again, I would go somewhere else and I definitely wouldn't stay on in the sixth form again.
