FAQ

How much experience do you have as a Scuba Instructor and where have you taught before?

We have a team of experienced Scuba Instructors with a range of backgrounds and specialties. Our instructors have a minimum of 5 years of experience teaching scuba diving and have taught in a variety of locations, from tropical resorts to cold water lakes and quarries.

What is your teaching style and approach to helping new divers learn and improve their skills?

Our teaching style is focused on safety, fun, and individualized attention. We believe that every student learns differently, so we tailor our teaching approach to meet the needs of each individual. We prioritize building a strong foundation of knowledge and skills, and then work to build on that foundation in a way that is challenging but also achievable.

What is your policy on rescheduling or refunding lessons if weather or other circumstances prevent diving on a scheduled date?

We understand that weather and other circumstances can impact diving plans, so we are flexible when it comes to rescheduling lessons. If we need to reschedule a lesson due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will work with students to find a date and time that works for them. If a student is unable to reschedule, we will offer a refund or credit towards future lessons.

How do you ensure diver safety during dives?

Diver safety is our top priority. We follow strict safety protocols and guidelines, and all of our equipment is well-maintained and regularly inspected. We also conduct thorough safety briefings before each dive, and our instructors are trained to handle any emergency situations that may arise. We always dive with a buddy system to ensure that divers have a partner to rely on in case of any issues.

What equipment is included in your dive packages?

Our dive packages include all necessary scuba gear, including wetsuits, masks, fins, and regulators. We use high-quality gear from reputable brands to ensure that our students have a comfortable and safe diving experience. If students have their own gear, they are welcome to bring it, but it is not required.

Guildford Sub-Aqua club is awesome!!! Come and join us! These are the reasons why I am a member of this amazing club: a) The other members are genuinely lovely people who I enjoy socialising with in the club house and on dives. b) The club has a large number of weekend, week-long and week-day dives (more than other clubs I have tried). c) Costs for trips are often cheaper as they own their own boats. d) They have a variety of dive trips to local training lakes, south coast, around the UK and overseas. e) They have a good number of instructors and members with experience to enable other members to gain their next qualification. f) They cater for a wide variety of members: social, technical and developing. g) They have their own compressor so refilling tanks between dive trips is free/ part of membership fees. Highly recommended club! Come and join in the fun!
