I encountered a tracking problem with the Discovery 2i mount (supporting a 150mm scope). After 20 months of essentially flawless service, the mount was suddenly unable to align with the chosen reference stars (as directed by Synscan). It kept pirouetting instead of settling on the target. Grovers suggested some initial software fixes but the problem persisted. They subsequently passed my query to Skywatcher. The guidance given was well structured and following some hardware 'tuning' (involving taking the side cover off and switching some electrical connections) to diagnose the problem the unit is now working perfectly again. At each stage, step by step guidance (using my own photos as a template) was provided and I was able to tackle an electromechanical problem which I would never have attempted on my own. Great to know this level of support and guidance is available when you need it with good turnaround speeds. Many thanks to all involved at Grovers and Skywatcher (Optical Vision) for getting me back on track!

I needed a right angle eyepiece for my Sky Watcher polariscope.Grovers had one in stock at a fair price. It arrived within 3days of despatch. Sadly it had a broken thumb screw, not Grovers fault as the eyepiece was inside a sealed bag inside a sealed box. I contacted Grovers, they asked for a photo of the damage and within hours got back to me to say that a replacement screw was in the post. Cracking sales service and equally great remedial action to sort out a minor problem. Incidentally the 90° eyepiece was exactly what I wanted, well engineered and a perfect fit.

Walked into this place and what a store this is, getting my geek on with the telescope section to walking upstairs to the models. Kids parts are also upstairs for Lego, radio controlled vehicles, model trains etc. Changed since last time I was here, definitely for the best. Telescopes are my thing at the minute. Walked in and spent best part of an hour looking at stuff before I even got speaking to the staff about anything. Unfortunately I didn't buy anything this time but now I have their website I will order online for things.

I literally looked all over the planet searching for a Sky Watcher EQ6-R mount counterweight extension bar. I even inquired with Sky Watcher and for over 8 months was unsuccessful. I had all but given up when I came across Grover Optics. I was told they had the extension bar and, even with international shipping, the item was well within prices I'd pay in the USA. I ordered the extension bar on March 3rd and, shockingly, it arrived in my home in Florida today, March 8th. I can't get items I order in the contiguous United States in that timeframe. This company is great. I only wish they had a storefront in my town!
