I was looking for a venue for me and 7 friends to celebrate my birthday. I ended up booking Olive Cottage in Oxfordshire through group retreats. I was a bit apprehensive booking online as I had never heard of group retreats before, however the team at group retreats were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. There was always someone on the end of the phone to speak to and whoever I was speaking to had great knowledge of the property so it was obvious that they had actually been there and it wasn't just an agency. If I ever need a similar property again, I won't hesitate to use them.

The customer care shown by Nikki and Lia and Allison was of a great standard! I stayed at the gorgeous Fawley Court in Ross-on-Wye for my wedding weekend, which I was organising entirely by myself. As you can imagine, I had a lot to be stressed about. But the team at Group Retreats took so many of my worries away with their professionalism, empathy, and clear communication. So I felt very well supported and knew that I wouldn't have to worry about anything going wrong with the location, at least. They always answered my emails very quickly, usually within the same day, and in phone calls were so, so friendly and personable. I really felt like I could trust this company, with their person-centred approach. The location itself was just fabulous, and made for an extremely memorable wedding. If you are reading this because you are considering doing something similar, I highly recommend it. For the ceremony itself, which was humanist in nature, we were 38 of us all comfortably arranged in the beautiful drawing room with the grand piano, and we said our vows in front of the fireplace surrounded by flowers. Bear in mind, I don't know if this property is registered for a 'legal marriage' - we signed our marriage papers in a register office months beforehand. Our ceremony at Fawley Court was officiated by our close friend, and it was ideal for a smaller wedding (quality, not quantity!) I also highly recommend getting in touch with Country Made Catering, run by a wonderful lady called Caroline. She'd catered at Fawley Court beforehand, so I felt so much better knowing that I wouldn't have to show her around the kitchen. She even brought a long table with her to act as a 'top-table' which bridged the two long banquet tables, and her food and table service was absolutely excellent. The grounds are PERFECT for wedding photography! Especially by the lake across the road. And then most of the evening was spent relishing the entire property! The games room was brilliant, some did a singalong around the grand piano, and THAT POOL! The photos on their website don't quite do it justice. It's HUGE! I think this was a lot of people's favourite part of the wedding. The rooms are all great, I recommend using 'Room 1' as the bridal suite as its the biggest and nicest. But you won't have any complaints about the other rooms which are all gorgeous, too. You definitely won't regret booking this place. Do it!

Fantastic accommodation with lovely facilities such as a pool and a hot tub. We had a minor issue with the heating in one room, and someone came to sort it out straight away. Couldn't recommend them enough!

FAWLEY COURT We spent our family getaway at Fawley Court for 3 nights during 17th to 20th December. The property was able to accommodate a large family of 40, with space to relax, play games, have our pre-Christmas meal and also hold our pool party. The rooms were clean, large and had ample storage. Group Retreats were always available to answer our queries prior to our stay and once we arrived at Fawley Court, they were always on hand to answer any questions. The grounds and property are absolutely beautiful. We highly recommend Fawley Court as a getaway.

Had a fantastic family get together at Milton House. Loads of room, and beautiful both inside and out. Great facilities. Only 4 stars because of a few issues. The Tennis court surface is quite dangerous and can trip you up. The house can sleep 30, we were a group of 17 and struggled to fit all our dishes/pizzas in the two smallish ovens, one only had one shelf. The second kitchen also needs more preparation areas. The table for table tennis was not a real table tennis table, which made a big difference to some. A couple of rooms didn't have any hanging space, so at full capacity that would be an issue. Overall this is a wonderful retreat for a large family gathering, but for a large price, we would have expected at least decent size ovens. There was an aga, but this appeared to be out of use?

We had a wonderful stay at Milton House for a long weekend for a 40th Birthday Everything was exactly as described, beatifully clean and as we had hoped the adults and the children all had the best time, The Group Retreats team have been amazing during the whole experience, A great experience through out highly recommended!

My family and friends had a lovely time at this property, but the quality of the product provided was unfortunately not in line with my expectations. i would not recommend this property, it was tired, poorly decorated, poorly maintained and a bit of a mess.
