I wouldn’t let my dog live here, let alone any loved one! I worked here and I had to whistleblow from my first day of employment, right up to the day I walked out! I saw many failings, upon a daily basis: from a dementia resident being told to keep still, or her legs would be chopped off; to a resident having a wet soapy sponge thrown at her - for a staff members amusement! Not to mention the slapping’s and being left for hours in soiled pads! Although, I reported my finding several times (from the manager of the home, right up to head office) not one person seemed to care! My reports mysteriously ‘went missing’ and I was even told to turn a blind eye to the going on’s of the home! The manger informed the staff, I had reported and I started to get bullied! The company knew what was going on and how I felt unsafe working here, but they did not care! Nor did anyone care about the abuse that was happening within their home!Eventually, I had a breakdown and left! The last straw came when I was assaulted, then barricaded in the managers office and assaulted again! The manager is joke and shouldn’t be in her position! I was allowed to take everyone’s personal file home - to catch up on what work hadn’t been completed , previous to me starting my role. Within these files I found other residents personal data, that had been put in the wrong file and same first names data mixed up. The manager treat the home, as one big social event! I was shocked when I walked in one morning, to find her running around the downstairs (of the home) screaming. Just behind her, was a team leader, with a crawling insect in her fingers! Staff members would have wheelchair races down the corridors; take photos of residents, upon their personal mobiles and turn off everyone’s bell, because the noise would give them headaches! One particular team member, is openly a racist! Please don’t ever consider this home, for your loved one! Her live in partner is a cocaine addict and she sends a staff member to pick up his coke. Her dad visited the home most days, to complain about howher partner. On top of all of this she doesn’t even know where to put commas and full stops, in her paperwork.
