What a joke! Went to Louth tip which was closed ( my fault for not checking) so continued to Grimsby tip, on arrival I was told would need to fill in online form to use the facility in the future due to type of vehicle ( its a car, Citroen Berlingo Multispace!), was then asked for my postcode and told I can't use the facility anyway due to paying council tax to East Lindsey & not NEL. So 42 mile round trip and still got a car full of junk & another trip to Louth. No wonder people fly tip!

Just love life All the time.
Awefull visit today, staff and Supervisor belligerent towards a 71 year old age pensioner who had travelled over 60 miles to help out a family in need to dispose of a large amount of refuse due to imminent house move. We were informed by a nice lady on the telephone when enquiring how we register to take to the recycling centres when we followed the correct procedures that we could take a medium-sized van and trailer full of house hold refuse in one visit to the Immingham depot and one to the Grimsby depot. The visit to the Immingham site went well, where the staff were helpful and pleasant. On our second visit to the Grimsby site, we were informed that the telephone information given to us earlier in the day was incorrect. ( Medium-sized Vans and Trailer's are only allowed to visit one of the sites once per day. All this was explained to the staff and their supervisor, and that was a genuine mistake on our part, but under the circumstances, it would be reasonable to allow us on this occasion to to unload the refuse and save a second return journey of over 60 miles for the old age pensioner and the additional fuel costs for the residents of Grimsby. The staff and Supervisor were totally intransigent on the matter stating "rules are rules" in a confrontational and belligerent tone and manor. When asked for their names and who we should address a complaint to their line manager, the refused to give the information. Now, by their behaviour and actions, they have cost a very poor family extra fuel costs for an unnecessary 170 miles to Selby and back to Grimsby again, which is by its nature self-defeating when your brief is to be environmentally friendly?

On the plus side I like the fact that they sell items for charity. Also it's well organised. However, I had the car full of our old kitchen tiles. Only 3 bags are allowed on any day! Can you imagine how many visits it would have been in my medium sized car to dispose of them all? What an impact on the environment, and what an addition to the already long queues. Fortunately I was on my way to Sheffield where I could dispose of the rest in their Council facility. There is never an excuse but no wonder some people fly-tip! The sensible solution would be one car load per day, if indeed, there has to be a limit at all.
