TLDR:Your deposit is not really a deposit, more like meats in front of tigers. Gov should stop this kind of greed, or could we? Law said it's just 1 month notice period but they make it 2 months in contract, isn't it interesting? You can't read every single word of it carefully because they made it complicated, I spent 50mins+ to just sign the contract, if you got two tanents then you'd spent 2hours, and yes that's the trap. Can you imagine when they offer you two awful options because you didn't notice them 2 months ago before moving, they will raise your rent 400 pound more monthly for single room unit, and, you have to take it? and this is happening when you already have found a new flat to live? You'd pay double rent and council tax for that, but don't worry they will charge you from deposit not regular rent like they were prepared to do so. I personally hope God seeing it. Also if you don't use their 260 pound cleaning service, when you moving out, you'll know how professional on this they are, unless you are free to bargain it with 50 pages documents and evidences with timestamp. You probably have to add some more to the deposit when you moving out. That's the funniest unit I've ever rent.

Greystar have shown themselves to be a money hungry machine who tramples on their residents and I would highly recommend you do not reside in any of their properties. We have been here one year and we are now being forced into either signing for another year with 6 month break clause or having to pay £458 more in rent per month for the ‘privilege’ of having a rolling by month contract. I do not treat my own tenants this way and I’ve never heard of this before. We earned the right to roll by month by committing to a year. It’s very hard to find a rental at the moment so they are trapping us between two awful decisions. Our rent for a 2 bed flat in Croydon will now be £2,609 (they are even advertising other 2 beds in the building cheaper at £2,200) as we desperately want to move out and so we have to take this risk and absolutely must find another place to live ASAP. We have a baby about to go to nursery and CT is going up. This increase will leave us with to barely any money but we cannot commit to another 6 months as we really want a garden for our baby. We appealed to management and they would not negotiate, it was humiliating to be invited to a meeting and not heard. This situation has really caused me a lot of sadness and keeps me up at night. Do not fall into this company’s trap. They show nothing but contempt for you and do not listen to individual circumstances.

I rented an apartment with Greystar in Dublin at the GRIFFITHWOOD Apartments for 9 months and I can only say they are extremely unprofessional and disrespectful . I moved out almost a month ago and still haven’t heard about my deposit. They are totally dodging me for my deposit and now managers are ignoring all of my emails. They promised to send quotes to repaint the apartment but never actually sent me anything. I had one of their managers telling me one of the quotes was €3000. They are trying to hold my full deposit at all costs claiming that the whole apartment needs to be repainted when we only had a few pictures hanging on some of the walls. The walls were full of cracks and chips when we moved in and got worse over time but they still want to charge us for that. I also didn’t have hot water in my apartment for over a month and the heating bills were absurdly expensive despite of that, not to mention we didn’t even use the heaters. They are taking advantage of the housing crisis in Dublin and raising rental prices astronomically. They are the worst property management I’ve ever dealt with.
