We are "semi-self builders" of a rear and a side extension (we use builders to do the actual work, but do planning, purchasing, and "project management," including plant hire, ourselves). The guys at Greenplant have been super helpful and friendly. Probably a bit cheaper than Jewsons, with a "personal touch" (we are on first names over the phone). There was a £1,000 deposit for hiring the first digger, and they've been charging us against that amount ever since. The good relationship makes the whole business of renovating our house much more enjoyable. Definitely recommend.
