My husband and I had a great morning with Jo and Mark. Jo demonstrated and explained very clearly to us, as complete beginners, the ins and outs (literally) of using the wheel. All seemed very logical and straightforward. However, it really is a skill, as we quickly discovered. I moved quickly away from the wheel to working with slabs of clay from which I eventually made (with a lot of much needed help from Jo and input from Mark, who made an anchor decoration for me!) a very big butter dish. My husband was very happy to stick to the wheel, and ended up with three bowls (I was very impressed!) and another item yet to be identified! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are now looking forward to seeing the results of our handiwork after having been glazed by Jo in a few weeks time. Jo and Mark are a lovely couple and made us feel very welcome. They were fascinating to listen to and we can't recommend them highly enough. We did find a half-day session flew by, so would suggest doing a full day if possible.

Four of us did a pottery taster session at Greenfield Pottery and loved it. You get really friendly and personal attention and you get a go at the wheel and hand building. We all came away with decent looking pots and items. It’s not easy but the guys spend a lot of time patiently showing and then helping. They’re super friendly and it makes a great birthday present, team session or just unique experience in lovely surroundings. Thoroughly recommend it
