Out of the frying pan and into the fire ( of Shell) For some inexplicable reason Ofgem has transferred my credit balance account from Green to Shell even though I had already moved from Green to Avro and Ofgem had put my new Avro credit balance account into the hands of Octopus one day earlier. In other words, both Octopus and Shell claim to be my new supplier and both are holding my money. Naturally, I stopped both Direct Debits until it is sorted out. By the way, I did email Ofgem but their reply did not explain why this has happened. I don't think they read and understood my situation.

Absolutely terrible company. My bill went from £98 per month -£333 per month. Disgusting service where you can’t talk to anyone! When I queried the bill but all I received back was ‘that was the meter reading you gave’! Please, please avoid Green Supplier! Gone with Octopus where I’m much happier. These guys are ripping people off!

I don’t think I will trust this company with my money. We started out fine with a £76.00 gas and electricity monthly bill for a low energy consumption one bedroom flat. One year after, I received a failed direct debit item notification alert from my bank one day, saying I need to transfer money into the account for them to be able to honour the transaction on a second payment attempt in 24 hrs. time. I originally have over £100 in my account more than enough to cover the direct debit with little did I know that Green Energy had hiked up my monthly direct debit to over £156. As shocked and surprised as I was, I contacted my bank to inform them that I wasn’t aware of that sudden rise in my monthly direct debit and that they should not honour it. The bank said sorry, we will not be able to grant your request as we have to follow standard procedure which requires the account owner to have raised a dispute or cancel the direct debit 3-5 days prior to, not at the very moment of the transaction taking place. They then advised me to contact and resolve the issue with my agency supplier if not I will have to pay the amount or have my account placed on a temporal red list that could affect my credit rating among other things. I phoned up Green Energy to contest the bill which after a long discussion and facts digging, they eventually admitted they may have over-billed me which they told me not to worry as they will make the necessary adjustment including a possible refund in my next bill. I went back to the bank and added more money for the transaction to clear. As for Green Energy, I reached the conclusion that they have lost my trust and so began the hunt for a switchover new supplier which I was able to find. When the new supplier contacted to inform Green Energy about the transfer, they actually placed my account on a £157.66 credit balance supposedly meant money they owed me. I was wrong for thinking so. As it turned out in the end, Green Energy went and created a non- existence artificial bill of £218.36 which they said was my final bill. They have cleverly wiped out my £157.66 refund and went further into leaving me with an over £61 final bill payment just to make sure they rip me off. These utility companies have the upper hand always, which they know very well and so ready to use that against you by threatening you with court action or send your details to the credit reference agency that will affect your credit rating. Take great care guys.

Absolutely horrendous company, waited over 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone, so I ended the call. Tried on line chat, waited 2 hours to receive a response of contact us by phone (clearly wasn't doing that again). Sent an email, 24 hours later no response other then rate our services... needless to say would not be contacting this company again. Would give a 0 star rating if possible. Terrible

Unfortunately you can't give less than 1*. Absolute joke of a company - customer service non-existent. They're trying increase my monthly electricity from £47 to £316 a month for a 1-bed flat. I honestly don't think they have a customer service department and if they do, they are the most incompetent in the business. Stay away at all costs, I'd rather live by candle light than give these thieves money,
