The worst experience I have ever had trying to rent a car. They insisted I pay the security deposit by credit card - a condition that was not visible on the website when I booked - and then proposed an additional fee of £280 simply to pay the deposit by debit card, when the entire cost of the rental was only £240. This was despite the fact that I had used my debit card to make the booking - they were happy to take upfront payment for the rental by debit card, but then changed to credit card as soon as I arrived to collect the car. Bordering on a criminal scam. Please do not ever under any circumstances use this company. They are unethical and dishonest. Their business model is a scam to cheat the unwary.

Have rented from here several times but have decided to go back to Sixt from now on. The cars are generally not that clean. The service is pretty bad. I returned my car 10 mins late and the attendant told me I'd have to wait to end my rental while he went to the airport to collect some other customers. Pretty poor service in other ways too. And there's very little that's 'green' about this place.

They handed me the car, we went over the defects, signed and no one directed my attention to check wheels. After two weeks I returned the vehicle without a scratch, their guy walks over the vehicle and shows me a defect of peeling the tire and claims that it is my fault and he didn't hand it over to me like that {at the time of delivery he didn't even refer to the tires and didn't draw my attention} In short, after trial and error {the man is clearly unpleasant, and feels that I am his prisoner} I had to give them 200 pounds for a new tire. From the reviews of others and my own feeling, they are looking for ways to squeeze more money from you. My conclusion is that if the car rental company does not let you purchase insurance with all the possible insurances, you are guaranteed the sting, and the company is not serious. Location of hire office was £10.00 taxi ride from City Airport. When I arrived at their office I was told the card I used to pay for booking a car was not accepted and I should pay an additional £280.00 for a car. The person in front of me was given a long list of scratches on his car so it is obvious the monies they charge for damage is not being spent on repairs. Having considered the options I did not take a car at all despite having paid for one. I would not use again under any circumstances. I would strongly advise against using this GREEN MOTION.
