Lovely welcoming Community Centre. Has a bar and large hall, with several smaller rooms leading of the main entrance. The hall hosts several groups, from short mat bowls to keep fit, running during the day and evening, everybody welcome to join. The Centre uses the smaller rooms for, over fifties social groups and stroke support clubs, singing groups, art and craft etc., The bar and main hall, host dances and various social events and can be booked for weddings and parties. I attended the short mat bowls, a friendly social group, really good for beginners to the game. Bowls are provided and no special clothes are needed. This only costs £1.50 and we stopped for tea and biscuits half way through. I am now hooked. This club runs on Thursdays 2pm to 4pm at the main hall at Gt. Parndon Community Centre.(Known to locals as the threepenny bit) due to the building's shape. It's situated on the corner of Abercrombie Way, near Staple Tye on Southern Way, Harlow. Bus stop outside and ample parking. OK
