  Loved this hotel. It's on my list of hotels to return to in London now. Great rooms with quality furnishings, friendly staff, nice snack section on every floor.   Stayed here 27th April 2023. The hotel is lovely, and the staff are super friendly & helpful which is great. I was able to check in much earlier than the 3pm quoted - arriving at 8am, they took our bags (and placed in the room when the room was available) ~1pm I picked up the card keys. Location wise it was perfect for the early morning Eurostar. We were not able to have the normal breakfast (starts at 7.30 am, but our train was much earlier) - but they did arrange to make /provide us a packed lunch (fruit bowl, sandwich, cake and m&s juice) As a platinum marriott member I was apparently given an upgraded room, though I am not so sure, i dread to think what my previous room was like, the rooms are absolutely tiny & had to shuffle around the bed. Bit of a musty smell too ..... for close to £300pn is probably not going to result in a revisit for me, the rooms really bring down the experience (hallways are nice and spacious though)

  I've stayed at the Great Northern three times. I really feel at home there. The location is outstanding: six tube lines are under the hotel, plus Eurostar to the continent. Dozens of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. There is lots of privacy: you can just go to/from your room without walking by stares from the Reception desk (of course, a key is need to get into the room areas). The rooms have lots of beautiful mahogany paneling & trim ... very warm. The bathrooms are very modern & nice, recently rebuilt. I've always had a great view from my room (always been on 5th floor). My only suggestion for improvement is that some of the lower-price "single person" rooms have very little room between the bed & walls - I'd prefer a bed 1 foot narrower so there is more floor room. But other people probably prefer the larger bed.

  When we return to London, we WILL stay here again. I cannot say enough about the atmosphere, dining, and the careful attention of the staff at The Great Northern. A lovely stay. And for those that appreciate it, the LOCATION is perfect for a visitor visiting London. We were able to quickly access all of our day trips on any of the several available tube lines at Kings Cross Station without transfer for 9 of our 10 trips. This allows the visitor to invest time in activities rather than transport logistics dominating the day. Wow!

  The hotel is in a brilliant location, right next to Kings Cross and St. Pancras stations. The rooms were clean and the hotel was quiet. You'll need to ask reception for an iron if you need one and there isn't a kettle or coffee machine in the rooms.
