Son stayed here in a room in house opposite. Dirty floors, especially retrieving something from under bed. No hot water until realised switch against ceiling. People arguing & slamming doors until 3am. They won't be returning. Rooms : 1/5 | Location : 4/5 … More

1 Flight path directly overhead. 2 No bar facilities, which according to other reviews has been the situation for some time now, and needs be disclosed at time of booking. 3 Despite the stay being prepaid, a £25 card pre-authorisaton was demanded "in case the room was smashed up" as if £25 would cover this, and it took 7 days for this charge on the card to be cancelled. Think twice about staying here.

Difficult to find due to motorway junction closure. No restaurant services. No local places to eat within walking distance. List of restaurants nearby but seemed to have specialised menus. Reception unable to let us know if any local restaurants for basic food. Was also unaware of a £25 fee payable at time of booking in. Although this was booked through holiday extras As for hotel was unable to regulate the shower and it was scolding hot water. Room needed abit more attention to the cleaning. Was woken early hours by other guests leaving to get there flights.

Sorry but wasn't impressed. Looks great from the outside, but the rooms have no double glazing and as you are under the Stanstead flight path the noise is horrendous. Also the hotel is all bare floorboards and it's like a huge amplifier for every sound. We went to bed at around 22.00 but were kept awake by people laughing and talking and that went on until at 01.30 my wife rang reception to ask them to please keep the noise down. In all we got about 4hrs sleep and then at 06.00 the flights started up again! Would never go there again.

My husband and I stayed a night here after missing our flight. GHM was the sixth or seventh hotel we looked for a room since all others were fully booked. I booked online and there was one room left which coincidentally was their bridal suite. We were traveling through London on our honeymoon so we thought that was a fun coincidence. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfy. We loved staying there in the English countryside which was only a 15 min taxi ride to Stansted. We ordered delivery from Giggling Squid (highly recommend). Staff was friendly! Great place to stay if you’re in the area.

Cheap parking options, but a very noisy place to stay, due to the constant flights. Be sure to register for the parking app prior to arrival, otherwise it can be very frustrating £5 per day Phone and pay app. The three stars are for the parking and close proximity to the airport.

A friend stayed here for a wedding a few weeks ago and the hotel took liberties with her card and charged an extra fee unjustified. They are now not answering phones or emails as she tries to resolve this issue. Be VERY wary of staying here.
