Update 2023: Having got off to a rocky start and my frustration initially, it appears that may have been an isolated event. Since the reception/office staff have been nothing but helpful. Proactive and really accommodating. They owned my complaint, explained how things went wrong and it was just unfortunate. So my revised review is reflective of consistent service. Previously: Complete lack of respect when it comes to managing their appointments, a real slap dash attitude to diary management. When they make a mistake, it is at their convenience with no regard to the time, energy and effort required to visit as to when they put things right.

Good luck if you can get past the receptionists. Some seem to go out of their way to be difficult, rude, hang up on people and overly sharp on the phone. If I could give 0 I would.

Been using this surgery for years but sadly it’s gone down hill fast. The receptionists are rude, unsympathetic and have no idea how to manage appointments. You’re lucky if you can get yourself in with a months notice if you need anything remotely urgent. As an asthmatic they fail to understand the condition is life threatening and unfortunately I don’t know a month in advance that I’ll need antibiotics or be ill. The last straw was being told I couldn’t see a doctor because I’d hadn’t come in for an asthma review to learn how to use the inhalers I’ve been using for nearly 50 years. Avoid this surgery at all costs. Order your scripts online but even that it took them 3 attempts to validate my account properly. Just frustrating on all counts.

Not only was I offered an appointment for next day, I declined as I do not regard my situation as urgent I was offered an appointment for 2 weeks ahead which is absolutely fine. Very helpful receptionist.

I’ve been using Grayshott surgery for the past 12 years and never had an issue until recently. They have now adopted a policy that if you turn up 5 mins late for an appointment to see the nurse no matter whether it’s a legitimate excuse or not they will not see you and you have to make an alternative appointment at a later date. You are told this by a very officious receptionist. This happened to me the other day. My wife was also turned away for being less than 5 mins late at her appointment. We accepted the situation even though it was only 5 mins as we appreciate surgery time is important. So today I turned up 10 mins early and they kept me waiting for 25 mins without any valid excuse! Hypocritical!? Surely if a surgery is going to adopt such a draconian policy they should live by the timekeeping rules they enforce. Or is it one rule for them and another for their patients!?

Signed up to the surgery as a new Paitent a few months ago, and so far very impressed with the staff and medical professionals. They’re busy, and it takes a while to get an appointment, but I believe that to be the case with all surgery’s in England at the moment. The staff are very helpful, and I’m grateful to be a patient here.

I rang the surgery to speak confidentially to the senior partner about my concerns for a friends health and the receptionist wanted to know the patients name and who I was I said I was a friend to which the reply was “Only a friend” Newsflash Greyshott surgery friends who are in regular contact know when something is not right and will raise concerns to ensure they get help it’s called care and compassion. People matter. I explained I would only speak to the Senior Partner ( for reasons I can’t go into in this review) and left my name and telephone number the receptionist then said I will put you through to the practice manger to which I said please don’t I don’t want to speak to them and you giving someone other than the Senior partner my contact details and that is against my wishes and five minutes later I get a call from the assistant practice manager , once again I repeated that I had requested that only the Senior partner was to be given my contact details to call me and terminated the call. I cannot believe that my personal contact details were passed onto another member of staff when I had said they were not to be . So much for confidentiality. Shame on you !!!!!! And until this morning I had only positive things to say about this surgery it makes me really sad the way my request was ignored. Update The Senior Partner did ring me and he has taken my concerns for my friends welfare seriously and will deal with it and for that I am incredibly grateful. Thank you Dr Cavannagh for your kindness
