Came in tonight for my introductory class. I was nervous coming in at first but soon settled into the calming & professional environment. I met Alex (Instructor) at first who was rolling with some students & he still managed to find the time to smile & wave at me 😊 James (Instructor) Also gave me a wave & smile whilst rolling with students! Proper Top Class welcomes. Both instructors personally greeted me & made me at ease. The Combative's programme is basically a beginners program! It seems like a solid system & no experience is needed. I’m currently on the combative’s program, as I literally signed up an hour after my introductory class! I’ve done BJJ years ago at another school, so I know what to expect but I was blown away how quickly I grasped techniques instructed at Gracie & how effective they will be, once properly mastered. I was able to come home & show my partner the techniques I learnt from just one lesson! I have my GI & I’m ready to roll!!! Thank you Gracie Tameside, for showing me the potential of GJJ/BJJ

I've been attending Gracie Jiu Jitsu Tameside since July 2022, in fact my first ever lesson was on the 37 degree heatwave day we had that year. Everyone I've met at Gracie Tameside has been fantastic, from the instructors James and Alex, to all of the guys and girls who are currently taking the Gracie Combatives (beginners) classes with me. Since joining Gracie Tameside I've lost a tonne of weight, stopped smoking, feel more confident in my body image and also more confident that I would be prepared for a violent altercation (mainly by knowing that there's no pride lost in your first move being to just remove yourself from a situation). It's also been extremely beneficial for my 6 year old son, who has also started taking classes here too. I couldn't recommend Gracie Tameside highly enough. It's been utterly transformative for me, and I hope it will be for others for years to come.

Great and welcoming environment for all ages. Alex and James are both excellent teachers of the techniques Gracie Jiu Jitsu has to offer. The combatives program I am currently part of has been instrumental in my self defence confidence. As the classes are technique based it ensures that people with no experience in self defence aren’t put off by being thrown in the deep end.
