Love this company, Can be abit tricky sometimes to book an appointment as they get busy real quick. This is the only motor repair business I will ever use. Mot’s, Servicing, major repairs, minor bits of assistance even. They have always looked after me very well and I trust them completely. They lend me a courtesy car if I want to go home and pick my vehicle up later or another day. Their charging is very reasonable and their advice honest. They look after my motorhome and having recommended them to friends with motorhomes, they are now regulars there too. They also look after my diesel estate car.

Whilst working near Thetford I desperately needed my aircon re-gassing as it wasn't working in the heat last week. Rang on Friday morning not really expecting to get an appointment but I was asked if I wanted to bring the car in whenever I was ready, they'd be able to do it. Took it in within the hour, and about one hour later I was driving to work in a beautifully cool car interior. The guys at Gorse are very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They also have free tea and coffee [which is good stuff too!]. Just a shame they are about 180 miles from my base up in the dark, grim north, as they would be my garage of choice! On 13/12/21 the brakes failed on our BMW. Failed meaning we had no servo assisted brakes, typical symptoms of a defective brake vacuum servo assist unit. After explaining the symptoms to the garage he accepted the car to investigate the fault. I also asked him to carry out extra work after he had rectified the main fault. We were given a courtesy car for the duration. We received a phone call to say bad news there are fault codes to suggest the ABS pump is at fault and it would need sending off for testing. He said that he could try and remove the part and clean it and reinstall but that would not guarantee the fix. This would have incurred more labour costs, so we were forced into decide to send the ABS pump off for testing so we did not waste money.I was adamant that he was to check the servo and master cylinder first and only send off the ABS pump as a last resort. He said it can not be the servo assist unit. Therefore, we agreed to send the pump to a specialist. On the 30/12/21 we received a phone call saying that the car was fixed. The ABS pump tested OK at the specialist, and no more codes were being shown, so there was no fault with the unit. My wife collected the car and reported that the car was the same, dangerous to drive and no servo assist. We called the garage and informed the owner that it was the same and had to come back. On 05/01/22 I went to check on the progress of the car as I didn’t receive any more correspondence. He informed me that I would have to spend more money to diagnose the fault that still exited. I said OK. Although I had just handed over £488 for work to be done not rectify the fault. He informed me that he could not source the parts required so I sourced a secondhand servo and master cylinder and gave it to him. These are the parts I told him to check in the first instance. On 07/01/22 he reported that the servo was at fault and showed me a picture of the defective part. It was rusted and had large holes in it. This would have cause zero brake assist. If he checked this like I told him then we wouldn’t have incurred such large costs. He went onto fit my secondhand parts and we incurred an extra £390 invoice. £878 total + parts. Misdiagnosed, overpriced and unfair. Reported to trading standards and seeking advice from a solicitor. Service: Brakes

I don’t normally write reviews, however my experience over the past few days really needed some appreciation. I purchased a car at the weekend and was keen to get the full works to ensure it was safe, my normal go to garage had no appointments for a few weeks so rather nervously had to find somewhere new. Gorse gave a great impression from the phone call and managed to squeeze my car in for a major service, plus cam belt& water pump as-well as fixing the air-con at a very competitive deal. The service was just awesome, felt very comfortable, everything explained fully and felt so genuine! I have always found in the past when the bill arrives extras appear but the price bill was exactly as quoted. Will be moving all my vehicles over to Gorse from now on. I would happily recommend any friends and family head to Gorse, only one improvement IMO, the loan car needs a clean 😂 Services: Brake service & repair, Air conditioning
