Under used, should have wards re opened and should be used more and should offer more treatments to the patients, instead of patients being transferred to the larger hospitals, mole away from Goole

Had trapiziectomy surgery 31 March ward 7. Staff was very friendly, and there were few visits from different anaesthetists and surgical staff. All explained what will be happening step by step. You weren't left on your own for long periods. Nearly every 15 minutes, nurses were coming to see if I was ok. Aftercare was fantastic. Thank you all very much. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely Shocking! My son had a minor operation yesterday & was sent home with inadequate dressing on his wound which subsequently bled out all over his bedding, I rang Goole & was advised to bring him back which I did at 6pm, he was losing a lot of blood & I expressed concern about this but was told not too worry in a couldn’t care less attitude even tho his dressing & shorts were soaked in blood!!! The dressing was reapplied (I was even asked why I’d changed the original, what was I supposed to do leave it dripping with blood?) we went home, 8pm and after 2 towels soaked in blood, bedding completely covered we sent a video to a nurse friend who immediately told us to take him to A&E in Scunthorpe where he is still now receiving treatment as he has a temperature of 34.4Deg C & a low blood count due to the amount of blood lost! Scunthorpe A&E are shocked at the amount of blood lost overnight while they stemmed the flow from the wound & even more appalled at how the poor kid was sent home not once but twice with a non-existent level of aftercare. I’m just glad we had a friend who’s a nurse to advise us & if we’d left it any longer with a temperature plummeting to 34.4 & only going lower he could have been in a world of pain thanks to Goole Hospitals unacceptable treatment!
