No Good Man, nor Woman Such a classic example of do not care staff in charge, owner take note! We booked a table for 4 w the female receptionist, on the phone, for Friday 12th May at 10pm, after a cinema visit at the Everyman Canary Wharf w our 2 boys (superhero film). Told by the lady that the kitchen would close soon after our arrival, we called back a second time, having looked at the menu and decided on steaks each plus sides and skipping starters, to say we knew our order and would she let the kitchen know so we did not delay them if we were a little past 10pm. The lady did not understand we were not trying to order for a specific time rather just pre order so the kitchen could be aware. We arrived at 10:15pm (having left cinema early to get to dinner before kitchen closed) and were met by the head chef- kitchen closed (offered starters only in fact) A missed phone call to me- well we were in the cinema, which I had explained previously. The four of us left at 10:19 after seeing the Head chef and receptionist had zero interest in our sorry plight. Pizza round the corner. Our celebratory dinner plan fell prey to incompetence and simply a complete lack of caring for customers.

Surprised my son with a birthday dinner experience here. He loves cooking and very interested in learning from experts. The chef took us to the meat storage and explained the different cuts and then took us to the kitchen and showed us the coal fired oven and various techniques used to grill steaks. Lovely staff and great vibe with loads of old world charm.
