Had a quick 9 holes here in the searing heat last week, brilliant. Ready for a revisit when they go back to 18. Lovely setting, beautiful river Ure (& a couple of midges) - oh Midge Ure! Great afters - beer & quality sandwich in a luxury setting, tremendous value & well looked after. Easy to get to if you ignore SatNav & go thru Whixley/Little Ouseburn. Enjoy.

The golf course is currently under renovation and only 9 holes are available to play. The website does state that this is the case and that you are able to play 9 holes twice if you wanted to play 18 holes. However the price has not been reduced due to the course only being half open. The condition of the holes that are open are in very poor condition. The greens had not been watered or cut and the fairways were like playing in the rough the whole way round. Finally it was never explained on the website or either by the member of staff at the course that there is a 15 minute walk from the car park to the first tee now. It is a very difficult tee to find and if you have never played the course before would be very hard to find. With all the time that golf courses have been closed I think it is unacceptable to be doing course renovations at the start of high season when people are finally able to enjoy playing golf after the lifting of covid restrictions. Very disappointed and would not recommend until the course renovations have been completed.

1st game after lockdown spoilt by redevelopment work being carried out, only back 9 in use, couple of greens in poor condition. Looking forward to the course getting back to its usual standard, hopefully soon.

Few greens in need of a little attention but overall a nice round. It's a course I most would enjoy

Good 18 hole golf course set in a lovely location. Well kept, though some of the rough grass is long and took a while to find the ball. Some challenging holes over water but good. Friendly players on the course and helpful in the club shop. Will play again.

Extremely annoying visit to the course. Played this course regularly over the last few years in our society and it is usually in pretty good condition year round. However the last couple of visits have been very frustrating. They have increased their green fees post COVID which is fine most courses have done the same, however for them to be constantly advertising on Facebook that the course is open and in great condition is completely misleading. The third hole is closed, half of the greens are waterlogged (bearing in mind it has been nothing but sunny for the last 3 - 4 weeks I can only put this down to poor green keeping massively over watering the greens) the 15th hole is a temporary green on which the grass is as long as the fairways (which need cutting as it is) and the 17th hole has had the tees pulled forwards by 180 yards. Myself and friends already have a free 4 ball voucher to come back and play the course from months ago when they advertised the course as being open and 4 holes were closed, and yet they are still doing the exact same thing but this time with increased green fees! £20 on a weekday and £30 on a weekend is nothing short of daylight robbery for the condition of the course. Our society will not be returning to the course, I am sure they will be losing a lot of members as well. BE HONEST IN YOUR ADVERTISING AND CHARGE A FAIR PRICE FOR THE COURSE CONDITION. If we knew in advance about the condition of the course we would not have wasted our money and would have played a course that we could have actually handed scorecards in to our society.
