Not reliable, impossible customer service with no ability to call and speak to a human when you need to. Best thing about LAO is their online form and tracking which to be fair is very good and easy to use. Almost every time I use LAO I curse myself for not using Sheffield Assay Office more.

I won’t be using the assay office again. I found I was deliberately being given false contradictory information by Adam the customer service manager who told me they no longer work with the Sheffield lab - of course they do otherwise why are they offering these services on the website? So I wrote to the GM on email explaining the problems regarding a request for a gold vermeil analysis. They say they don’t do these tests anymore however when I checked in with Keisha and Debra in customer service they confirmed they could get the test done at Sheffield. I’m quite shocked that senior management are giving me false information. I expected an organisation like Goldsmiths to work with a high level of integrity and honesty. I am a paying customer and It serves them no purpose to give me false information and send my request back so why are they operating like this ? I won’t be using them ever again .
